Meeting and speaking about your personal struggles with a stranger can be nerve racking. It comes with feelings of awkwardness and anxiety. You find yourself leaving your comfort place and all the hiding places you have created, to a place that is unknown. I can promise you I will be there all the way supporting and encouraging you to make those life changes you are looking for. We go through life feeling alone, misunderstood, living in fear, anxiety, and anger all the time.

I recognize the importance of being able to share your thoughts, feelings, & emotions without being judged. I’m a firm believer in what a person thinks, affects the way they feel, which ultimately affects the way they act. So my goal is to work with my clients to help them become the best version of themselves at their own pace.

In practice since 2009, I've had the privilege to work with children, adolescents, families, adults, couples, and individuals with disabilities. While I seek to help everyone, I have an extensive background in providing services to the LGBTQQIA+ community as well as a firm foundation in multicultural considerations in counseling, couple dynamics, and family systems. I can help clients with anger, anxiety, depression and self esteem issues. I tailor my approach to therapy for the individual client, drawing from many different therapeutic disciplines. I am most comfortable with REBT/CBT, but I sometimes use some Narrative, and Solution Focused techniques. Whatever works best to help the client make a positive change in their life.

Hi, I’m Tim Goode. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina, and nationally board certified counselor. I have over 15 years of experience working with adults on issues related to anxiety, stress, depression and trauma. I have experience and training providing mental health counseling for LGBTQIA+ people, military veterans, first responders and medical professionals. My practice integrates strategies for change that I’ve learned as a DBT-trained therapist and my own personal experience as a LGBT+ person. I also address issues around coming out, gender identity development, trauma, and relationships.
