Wanting to make some changes, but feeling stuck? I work with you to uncover the obstacles inhibiting you from making the changes you desire and give you the tools you need to make those changes. I provide a safe atmosphere of unconditional positive regard and non-judgment. Each person is unique and therefore I am flexible in my approach and am guided by what each individual client needs. I also teach Relaxation Response breathing and other relaxation exercises for those dealing with stress and anxiety.

I offer therapy to teens, young adults, and adults living with mental health concerns such as stress, depression and anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, family struggles, trauma, and PTSD.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 13+ years of counseling and supervisory experience who enjoys working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. In my therapy practice, I use one-on-one, couples and family sessions. The clients I work with can expect sessions to focus on the negative thoughts and behaviors that are holding them back, the life events that created them, and ways to improve satisfaction in their lives and relationships.

Rick is a Master's Level therapist at the Hershey Counseling Center. He earned his Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University and his B.A. in Sociology and Journalism from Drake University. He has over 15 years' experience working as a psychotherapist in diverse settings including community mental health, non-profit, and private agencies.

The first step is recognizing your desire to change and having a therapist who can validate and empower you is very important. My primary goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable expressing yourself. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and strength-based approaches to allow you to become more self-aware and grow in a positive direction. My focus is meeting you where you are at, helping you learn new approaches, viewing things in a different light, and achieving your goals.

My practice specializes in aiding individuals facing a range of challenges including self-esteem issues, substance abuse, bullying, anger management, and family conflicts. I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client's specific needs, drawing from person-centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques. I firmly believe that true healing begins by confronting difficult life circumstances, addressing debilitating situations, and overcoming fears without succumbing to negative thought patterns that hinder progress.

Welcome to Set Sail Counseling, a group practice located in Hershey, PA. We are excited that you’re here and considering “setting sail” on your journey toward healing! We currently have availability with our two LPCs: Stacy Dove and Stachia Lippy (telehealth only). Stachia typically utilizes CBT and/or DBT and is a gender-affirming therapist operating from a trauma-informed lens. She especially enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ community and younger males (ages 18-30). She is currently in the process of credentialing with Capital Blue Cross and Highmark, so she is only able to accept clients who pay out of pocket at this time.

I work with people from all faith backgrounds, and while I do not consider myself to be solely a "christian counselor", my faith is a large part of my life and I invite clients to lead the role that faith plays in our work together. I work with individuals as well as couples. My work has included supporting people who experience anxiety, depression, poor relationships and life changes.

I have extensive experience as a telehealth counselor, and am able to make lasting connections and create a fun and engaging experience for those younger clients.
