My approach to therapy is curious and client-centered, with an emphasis on the role that emotions, beliefs, and narratives play in shaping identity and behavior. In addition to helping people work through difficult issues, I also enjoy working with individuals who are interested in therapy as a process for facilitating personal growth and wholeness.

Though I use a psychodynamic approach, I tailor my approach to meet my clients' needs, integrating techniques from various approaches like CBT, gestalt, & mindfulness.

My specialty is relational psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and groups which aids in transformation for most issues in life: grief, loss, anxiety, depression and transition, to name a few. I love working with a wide range of people from young adults to seniors, and work with individuals, couples and families. I am LGBTQIA friendly and love working with diverse populations. I have had various jobs in helping professions for almost twenty years, and since 2012 have counseled adults, families and couples. I love seeing people have renewed hope and vitality in their lives.

My professional experience, academic emphasis, and personal passion aims at helping clients experience their full potential. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I also work as a performance consultant for competitive athletes and coaches using mental skills training. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University and have fifteen years of clinical experience in private practice throughout western Washington.

I get that life can get really exhausting and you want someone to finally get you. You want and need support to gain the confidence you deserve to thrive.

People look at you and think you have it all put together, but inside you are falling apart. Feeling like food or your appearance is the only thing you can control in your life is frightening, especially when you start feeling like you're not even really in control of that. The loneliness that can come with that is devastating. You're anxious, uncomfortable, lonely, and miserable. You're feeling out of control with food: bingeing, purging, restricting, counting, weighing.... It's maddening. You're ashamed and afraid of what anyone might think if they found out. You put on the mask and pretend you're fine.

Couples or individuals struggling with conflict, stress, or overwhelming circumstances will find a safe place here to sort their thoughts and feelings about the issues while learning to repair and create deeper connections with loved ones. As a systems therapist, I understand the challenges of life transitions and help strengthen couple relationships and family cohesion and resilience through various life challenges. For clients struggling with past family of origin issues, we work to heal difficult memories. I help clients grow from brokenness, trauma, grief and loss to find healing, hope, peace and a new direction.

As Licensed Behavior Analyst, I founded ASBI to support our neurodivergent communities by making ABA with a trauma-informed approach, more accessible and individualized. I lead with the assumption that each client I work with has had trauma that may have inhibited their emotional growth, skill development, and the ability to set boundaries, or form trusting relationships. Compassionate care is an essential component of my practice, where trust is built and skills are practiced in a safe space, both physically and emotionally.

We all crave connection, peace, a sense of worth and belonging and we all go through periods of struggling to find wholeness. I see therapy as a partnership where I work to support you on your particular path towards healing, wholeness and thriving in your relationships. I believe my most important task is creating safety within the therapeutic encounter so that my clients have a place where they can vulnerability heal.

A large part of why I have chosen to be a counselor is to simply help those in need. Many people come to therapy wanting relief from life’s challenges, answers to hard questions, or simply to be seen by and connected to another. My hope is that by choosing to engage in therapy, you will be able to experience all the goodness that comes from being respected, valued, and cared for in a truly meaningful way.

Life's stressors can be overwhelming. Therapy shows us new ways of being and engaging through practicing adaptive skills and mindfulness. I help my clients uncover connections between past experiences that shape their current ways of coping. This leads to the ability to recognize inner strengths, identify and embrace discomfort, and cultivate self-compassion to find peace and true connection. With empathetic listening in a safe environment, I strive to be my client’s ally. I use cognitive and somatic modalities to connect mind and body and tailor my approach to your needs, even using humor when appropriate!

I work with children, teens and parents who are struggling with big emotions, difficult behaviors, and power struggles that leave everyone feeling disconnected and unheard. As a parent, I understand that at the root of things, nothing compares to the love you have for your child. Seeing them struggle can be heartbreaking. Even though nobody knows your child the way you do, it's oftentimes hard to understand what's underneath their emotional outbursts, worries and fears. I support families in decoding their kid's behaviors, repairing emotional connection, and build on natural strengths to make lasting changes.
