Not accepting insurance; several weekday 8am and 9am slots available - I specialize in sexual issues, specifically related to functioning, sexual shame, sexual trauma, impulsive behaviors, sex and porn "addictions," low and hyper-arousal issues - all from a sex-positive, kink/poly/bdsm-friendly stance, as well as Christian-friendly and all around non-judgment. I also help couples navigate challenges in their intimate relationships. Working with sex means I work a lot with trauma, anxiety, grief, impulsivity, and depression.

Welcome! As a licensed psychologist, I provide evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) using telepsychology, which is as effective as in-person meetings for anxiety and depressive disorders. Most of the clients I treat have struggled with anxiety, panic, OCD (e.g., intrusive thoughts and health anxiety-related obsessions), and depression. During treatment, clients learn what makes these difficulties continue to occur, learn new ways to respond to them, and feel more empowered and confident to navigate emotions moving forward.

There is often an overwhelming feeling, event, or life transition that brings someone to therapy, and, usually, that's only after they've tried to run away, ignore, or just push through "it." I often use EMDR to help clients reprocess traumatic or difficult experiences, to find relief from the symptoms that have been troubling them recently or for years.

My passion is rooted in working with individuals who may find themselves faced with life challenges of depression, anxiety, and trauma, as well as cultural specific barriers faced in the BIPOC community. Although my primary way of helping others address these hardships is through a cognitive and behavioral approach, I believe integrating techniques catered to the individual is optimal for change. Additionally, I believe our mental health is interconnected with our physical and spiritual well-being. Therefore, my focus is to help my clients align those elements for improved overall health.

David Silvers, Licensed Therapist – LMHC - State of Florida, and a CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist). He earned his MS from Troy State University in Counseling and Human Development and has trained with Dr. Patrick Carnes through the International Institute of Addiction Professionals (IITAP). David specializes in the treatment of sex addiction and other co-occurring disorders including depression, anxiety, and trauma. He has been in the addiction treatment field since 2007 and understands the devastating effects of active addiction and that recovery and lasting change is possible.
