As a research informed clinical expert in couples and family relationships and AASECT certified sex therapist. My clinical interest is providing sex therapy with individuals and couples to treat male and female sexual matters, sexual dysfunctions, sexual disorders, sexual orientation, sexual expression and gender identity issues. I'm committed to serving the spectrum of variations in human sexuality across the lifespan.

I do individual and couple therapy. I am often a good fit for clients who want to integrate a spiritual perspective into therapy. By spiritual I mean living authentically, finding deep purpose, forgiving oneself and others, having compassion for yourself and others in the face of life's inevitable challenges, and seeing the sacred in the ordinary. I work with people of different faiths and those with no particular belief. I mix creativity, humor, and metaphors into therapy and encourage "daily practice for the rest of your life" to keep growth going long after therapy concludes. I am Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with active licenses in Ohio, Hawai'i, & Texas. I am a trauma informed practitioner with 9 years of experience in Zen and Integral Psychotherapy, and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems. I am Safe Zone trained and affirming of all gender identities & expressions. I am experienced in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, and other communities of diverse relational norms. I am skilled in healing religious trauma and renewing spiritual connection.

Every day is a struggle. Painful memories and overwhelming emotions make it difficult to accomplish anything. Some days, the thought of just getting out of bed is too much to bear. You never know what will trigger distress and anxiety, so you avoid people and unpredictable situations. But, as a result, your life keeps getting smaller and smaller. Relationships are becoming distant and filled with conflict. You wonder why you’re unable to get over those painful events from your past. You blame yourself for still struggling this way. If only there were someone you could talk to and help you make sense of what you’re experiencing.

I have a heart for helping people develop their inner strength, build deeper relationships with the people around them, and rediscover their joy... In addition, I enjoy getting to learn from clients each day and the personal growth that comes with accompanying you on the journey toward healing.

I see adults and couples, providing both short-term and long-term psychotherapy, in order to increase personal insight and decrease unwanted symptoms.

I'm currently adding ONLY couples to my waitlist. I am trained to target emotional experiences to activate internal healing and external connection. I assist couples by facilitating an environment that safely moves folks towards security in self and towards one another in vulnerability so that bonding can replace the need for self-preservation. With individuals, I welcome all parts of each person as they establish security in self helping parts recognize: "parts cope, self heals." I view people as "stuck" and not "sick," and I believe in each person is a healer. In couple therapy, I hold this true: "one therapist, three healers."

I earned a master's degree in clinical counseling from Northwestern University and pursued counseling because my life experience put me in a unique position to help people overcome difficult circumstances in their lives. Since childhood, I've endured ceaseless adversity that's made it essential to have a safe place to explore my past, present and future. The gift of counseling was the beginning of my healing journey and the first time, in a long time, I'd felt hopeful. After over a decade in corporate America, it became clear that my passion is to provide those who are struggling access to the same opportunity for personal growth.

Kline, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who has had the pleasure of working with adults and adolescents for over 20 years in a number of different settings, from university counseling centers, community-based outreach programs, and private psychology practice, to working with corporate executives and teams. Dr. Kline received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Akron, a Masters of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of Akron, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Wooster.
