I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in eating disorder treatment. I believe in treatment that works, is based in science, and has an end goal (i.e., evidence-based treatment). I work primarily with eating disorders; however also enjoy supporting individuals through interpersonal difficulties, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. I know how difficult change can be and offer a compassionate approach that values working toward your personal goals.

I am experienced working with people of all ages, and in couples and family groups. Most people have goals around reducing distress and resolving painful experiences, as well as exploring their strengths and potential for change and growth. Welcome! I am a licensed clinical psychologist with 17+ years of experience providing assessment and therapy to adolescents, young adults, and families who are seeking to process and heal from a variety of issues including: depression, anxiety, anger, suicide/self-harm, trauma, impulsivity, gender identity issues, and problematic sexual behavior. Adolescence is a period of significant development that presents major social and emotional challenges. My goal is to provide a nurturing and accepting environment where clients can grow to appreciate the therapeutic process and learn new skills necessary to reach their identified goals.

Throughout life, we will encounter difficult times that bring about emotional and behavioral challenges. These challenges can impact us in many ways from relationship issues to self-esteem problems, to discomfort at work, school or in social settings. I take an integrative approach that draws from trauma informed care, mindfulness, and cognitive and behavioral interventions.

I am passionate about the work that I do and realize that reaching out and asking for help can be one of the most challenging aspects of starting the therapy process. We all have strengths, yet sometimes we need guidance to identify what they are and how they help us to move through difficult challenges we face. I draw upon several theoretical frameworks which include trauma-informed care, strength-based, solution-focused, narrative therapy, and systems practices. I offer consulting for parents to learn collaborative parenting (married or divorced). With over 37 years of clinical experience, I'm also a parenting specialist, helping parents to understand their children's behavior & needs. As a divorce mediator, my approach is child-centered. As parents struggle to meet their children's needs at a time of heightened tension, they need support and guidance. They must navigate a difficult grieving process, while they learn to transform their relationship from marital partners to business partners, sharing the "business" of raising their children together to ensure everyone thrives.

Many individuals who experience medical events need clarity about how they have been impacted and what it means for their future. Some individuals and families also want clarity about whether there is an underlying developmental, cognitive, or psychiatric condition affecting functioning. Through neuropsychological evaluations, I help provide a picture of current functioning, as well as help explain how this relates to brain functions. Evaluations are designed to answer specific referral questions and, where needed, to provide useful conclusions and recommendations for next steps.
