Better Days Therapy is a mental health service that provides counseling for adults, adolescents, children, and families. I work with individuals, groups and communities to improve mental health. I examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress and suicide. I help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight into their thought process. I develop therapeutic processes and take a holistic (mind, body, and spirit) approach to mental health care. I will perform crisis intervention and crisis counseling when needed.

Providing CBT & DBT via teletherapy. Perception is everything. How we perceive something will directly impact our emotional and behavioral responses. Learning to understand the process of perception will offer ongoing opportunities for an individual to enact change in his or her life. I offer specialized treatment for college students and young professionals during their transition into college or the workforce. In my practice I draw from my intensive training in both CBT and DBT to teach these fundamental coping skills to clients. Clients have the option to attend treatment in my office or via videoconferencing.

The hallmark of trauma is the loss of basic trust. Our mind-body connection is powerful. In the short-term, it finds the quickest route to safety. Yet, overtime the protection it affords can become a pattern that adversely affects our well-being. I am passionate about helping individuals in the process of restoring their capacity to trust and dissolve the fear that leads to harmful advance or retreat, and causes relational anxiety and depression.

She’s worked in various positions in the field utilizing her counseling skills and innate problem solving abilities as a Guidance Counselor, a Crisis Counselor, Substance Abuse Counselor, and an In home counselor for the last 15 years where she has molded and guided at risk youth in crisis. Lisa holds certifications in: Eye Movement and Densitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy (Ct.H), National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC), Mind/Body Personal Trainer, Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor, and CANS certified SNA (NA/BPS).

Dr. Spada is a distinguished psychotherapist with over two decades of experience, operating her practice in a discrete location in Colts Neck, New Jersey. She is the founder of LEAF by Dr. Dana Spada Psychotherapy, with locations in Little Silver, Sea Girt, and Hazlet, New Jersey. Dr. Spada brings a gravitational energy to her practice that is compassionate, warm and authentic.

I am both an art therapist and counselor with many years of experience working with individuals challenged with issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem and difficulties adjusting to life's changes. I can help you express and explore your core beliefs and concerns in a safe, calming, non-judgmental environment. In addition to traditional verbal therapy, I offer art therapy, mindfulness, and creative writing/journaling. *Art Therapy allows for expression of feelings using materials such as markers, paint, and pastels. It is a non-threatening and more immediate method to voice issues; drawing ability is not important.

For over 30 years I have maintained a private practice woking with adults, children, couples, families and groups. I am also a certified divorce mediator. I have a degree in Special and Elementary Education.and have taught courses in assertiveness training and a divorce workshop for many years. I supervised the out patient department in Catholic Community Services for Six years. I also have worked in an eating disorders clinic and am familiar with 12 step programs. At this time, due to the amount of people who are in need of counseling, I am limiting my practice and am not working with young children or Anyone with eating disorders.
