I provide services for adults who are experiencing concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, issues related to sex and sexual or gender identity, and exploration of relationship dynamics and ethical non-monogamy.
As a therapist, I strive to help you live a life that is connected with joy, authenticity, and purpose. I value all of the identities, experience, and lessons that you bring to the table, and use these to deliver a personalized approach to counseling. I set out to create a warm, non-judgmental space for you to show up as your most authentic self, and utilize a blend of Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral approaches to help you achieve your goals in therapy. My goal is to foster a space for you to explore yourself, gain insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to create meaningful and lasting growth in your life.

In a world full of judgment, you need to trust that your therapist is affirming and ready to hear your "deep, dark secrets." With that, you can then talk about what's really going on and address your true concerns. I have experience helping people with all kinds of issues, including relationships, sex and sexuality, addictions, gender identity, physical/emotional/ sexual abuse, as well as general questions of self-worth. Together, we will explore any issue that is important to you. We will discuss how past experiences shape what you're currently thinking and feeling.

I work best with clients who are engaged, thoughtful, and motivated for change. My style is empathic and direct, with a sense of humor. I believe strongly in the therapeutic alliance and the client/therapist fit.

I enjoy working with individuals and couples to deepen and strengthen existing relationships, find new relationships, explore sexuality, reduce stress and anxiety, and manage life transitions.
Hi, I’m Danielle. I’m a reproductive rights advocate turned therapist. Many of us experience being "othered" – judged or excluded – because of our gender, race, who we love, how our brain is wired, and more. I see therapy as a collaboration that empowers you to be your whole, authentic self and make real change for YOU. Together, we’ll explore your many sources of strength and solutions to cultivate greater well-being, joy, ease, connection, and belonging in your life and relationships. In session, I strive to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space. Clients tell me that I have a calming presence and they feel seen and heard.

Welcome! I primarily work with clients who are struggling with life transitions or relational concerns. This may include leaving a faith tradition, gaining or losing a partner, exploring sexuality, dealing with old "stuff," working through identity 'stuff,' or getting unstuck. I work with clients from traditional to alternative and everything between, regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, race, orientation, spirituality or relational preferences. I am committed to a social justice practice of anti-racist and affirming care. I tend to see many clients who have had negative experiences with therapists in the past.

I am a psychoanalyst & sex therapist comfortable working with kinks, non-traditional relationships, and poly people (including couples where one person is gung-ho and the partner is oh-no).
Modern relationships are HARD. It’s a struggle to find the right person OR to wonder if your current partner is possibly the wrong person. It’s tough when you feel burned by or totally confused about your path. Maybe you’ve even made choices or overlooked things you now regret. Or, maybe it’s a relationship with a boss or coworkers who undervalue you or play favorites with others. Your work ethic and good ideas have long taken a backseat to putting out fires or just avoiding things way more than you should. You’re past thinking that life’s fair. But, you never thought that things could go THIS wrong or get under your skin THIS much.

I specialize in, but am not limited to, mid-life issues for men and women including sexuality, empty nest, health, and lifestyle.
We come to therapy to change our lives which can only be done by changing ourselves. I believe the most effective changes occur when we can experience and examine our behavior in relation to others. In individual therapy you and I will not only identify and try to understnad how your life experiences have shaped your behavior, but how you and I experience that behavior in our relationship. When I work with couples, I focus on your dynamics of intimacy, power imbalances, money, sexuality, and the impact of family and friends on your couple.

Sex Therapy

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
