Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is a stressful undertaking but worth the time and effort. I really enjoy working with individuals who are introspective, resilient, and want to make the most out of their time in sessions. While working in a training institute I have supervised many new therapists starting their careers and the most common complaint I have heard is that the therapist is "nice" or "supportive" but does not help the client make changes. Balancing support and validation with the push people need to live the life they want to be living is the true testament of the therapist's skill.
For the past 10+ years I have worked in an inpatient safety net hospital with individuals experiencing a wide variety of psychological distress. I specialize in evidenced-based cognitive behavioral therapies with an emphasis in mindfulness and trauma-focused interventions.
Research on therapy suggests that the most important factor for successful outcomes is the therapist and client's rapport. I have spent the majority of my career connecting with people who have difficulty connecting with others and I hope to now use that experience to help you.
