I approach mental health from a humanistic perspective and am committed to helping people grow in confidence and comfortability within themselves, utilize their strengths, and seek alternatives to unhealthy and harmful patterns.
I assist clients who are facing anxiety, social anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, and more. I recognize that life can be overwhelming and isolating and embrace the counseling space as a place to process this and make steps towards growth and self-actualization.

I apply humanistic, psychodynamic and attachment perspectives to treatment of adults and adolescents (+19).
While many may hope to attain a quick solution to their struggles through the work of therapy, it is my ultimate goal that the psychological treatment facilitates healing through meaningful self-discovery. As a therapist, I strive to be a witness to stories you may have never told anyone before, including yourself. Every part of your life presents its own uniqueness and complexity. I believe that the inherent safety and trust found within the therapeutic relationship are paramount as therapist and patient embark on this exploration of your past and present experiences.

I have over four years of experience providing therapy using an eclectic blend of evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and more strengths based, relational, humanistic approaches that center around your lived experiences.
All of us have stressors in our life - we juggle some combination of jobs, academics, relationships, parenting, goals. It can get a little overwhelming to balance everything. Not to mention the impact of the current economic, social, political and environmental landscape on our lived experiences. This is further complicated by a layer of immigration for some folks. Sometimes, we need a little extra support. That's where I come in. I am passionate about supporting people through family of origin (FOO) and cultural identity-related issues, professional/academic burnout, and women's issues.

You can never seem to get on track. You’ve tried everything you can think of, from ideas from YouTube to suggestions from other people. The message you’re getting through life is to try harder. And just trying harder never seems to work. Whether you have ADHD or some of the traits attributed to it, trying harder isn’t going to work. What the well-meaning people who try to help don’t know is that you need to try something different. Each time you lose your keys, forget to turn off the stove, or get sidetracked and lose track of time, you roll your eyes at yourself. Not again!

If you’re struggling with substance use, sleep issues, or relationship instability—or if low self-worth and irritability are making life harder—I can help. I specialize in working with creative, queer, non-monogamous, pagan, kinky, and neurodivergent individuals who feel overwhelmed by trauma, grief, or challenges with identity. Many of my clients identify as the "weirdos and nerds" of their communities and share a deep passion for personal growth and learning. With my lived experience in queer, polyamorous, and alternative communities, I understand how these identities shape your life in ways that others might overlook.

I work to create a safe and trustworthy relationship with young adults, adult individuals, and partnerships in all areas of distress or life transition. My lifelong passion for story fuels my desire to know you and discover your unique manner of relating to and being in the world. In the face of struggles inherent to the human condition, we all develop creative coping strategies. Those strategies, while useful for a time, all too often end up becoming patterns that limit our ability to live the lives we envision for ourselves.

I love the diversity and uniqueness of the clients I meet. I prize developing a warm and close working relationship with my clients. The rewards can be great, especially with kids that are experiencing big emotional, physical and situational changes that can often be so intense and so indescribable at the same time. I have demonstrated a knack for helping to supply words and meaning to adolescent and young adult experience and for helping to alleviate uncertainty, anxiety, tension and strife. I also identify and utilize a person's strengths as a primary means of positive change.

Humanistic Therapists

How does humanistic therapy work?

One tenet of humanistic therapy is that people are good. The humanistic approach is concerned with a person’s ability to accept oneself. It likewise encourages a person to overcome self-criticism and self-defeating tendencies, as well as disapproval from others. This approach also emphasizes self-actualization and treating an individual as a whole person. A foundation of this therapy type: The patient is the expert in their life, and treatment often takes the individual’s lead.

Is humanistic therapy evidence-based?

Humanistic therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has found that humanistic therapy can lead to significant improvement, and for some people it can be just as effective as other therapies, such as Cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of humanistic therapy are enduring.

How long does humanistic therapy last?

The goal of humanistic therapy is to understand a person’s day-to-day experiences. While sessions can be short-term and last over a few months, therapy can sometimes continue beyond that and last up to a year or more. And because patients learn the theory behind humanistic therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is humanistic therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with humanistic therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in addressing poor self-esteem and self-sabotage, as well as improving conditions including anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can be long standing, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve learned during treatment.
