I don't tell you what to do or what is wrong with you. I help you identify what you want and what you need to accomplish that. I help you retrieve desired resource experiences from your learning history and get them available in the current life contexts where you need them. My role includes serving as a 'translator' for couples as I help each one hear and understand what the other is trying to say.

An interesting client for me is the middle-aged male who has climbed the ladder of success only to find there is nothing there but "stuff". They are extremely depressed realizing that they are unsatisfied with their lives. So they come into therapy to start "The Male Journey". If they become humble and honest, there is a chance that they can transform their lives for the better. Often, this approach is successful with couples who are in need of relationship counseling.

I have over 25 years of clinical experience and have worked in a variety of mental health health systems, from inpatient settings to Wellness programs with major corporations. I am credentialed as a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) as well as a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) and I am extensively trained in treating those with substance misuse concerns. In addition to my expertise in substance abuse/addiction, I also specialize in trauma/anxiety and military related difficulties; U.S. military veteran of 25 years (Air Force) and a former federal civilian employee of 8 years with the U.S. Army.
