I have 10+ years of therapy experience (including: individual, family/couples, and group therapy) addressing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges including: past hurts (trauma), substance abuse, depression, anger, anxiety, self destructive behavior, loss of touch with reality, relationship issues, and various types of adjustments to life changes. I have been a licensed therapist since 2007. I pursued this profession due to my passion for helping others.I have sixteen years experience. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults. I ran an after school program and summer program for almost nine years. I have a Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a Masters of Rehabilitation of Counseling. I am currently finishing up my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Studio Art to incorporate into my client's therapeutic sessions.

I like to think I have a unique skill set coupled with life experience that equips me to be a dynamic therapist. I served as a Marine in the military, spent 20 years working in the pathology field looking at healing the body and now work with clients from 5 years to older adult healing the mind. My ideal clients are individuals that are struggling with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression or other behavioral issues who need to learn better ways to cope. Other ideal clients would be parents/families with children who have special needs and need support, education and guidance to cope and manage their feelings and relationships as they may relate to the unique stressors of having a child with a special need.

I have a knack for motivating young people to their purpose and developing action steps to move forward. I am also a certified Technology Assisted/Distance Based Counselor. We can work together over video chat, phone call or text based sessions.

For many years my clients have primarily been individuals, groups, and families coming out of abusive and sometimes violent relationships and addiction. Although that was the original primary focus, most of them also struggled with other accompanying factors like depression, anxiety and other serious mental health diagnoses. My clinical focus has recently shifted to more of a community-based population. I have found this work incredibly rewarding. I enjoy working with additional needs such as grief, prenatal, postpartum depression, and abandonment trauma to name a few.

I believe all individuals carry heavy questions about their life: Why am I here? What am I supposed do? Why do I feel bad? The weight of these thoughts can cause distress in our minds and bodies. All age groups bear these questions, albeit in different ways and expressions. There are not simple answers, yet you can find healing through the universality of exploring your meaning. I believe in your power to heal and your desire to feel whole. I believe you are doing the best you can do with the tools you have. And I will listen and support you, welcome shadows and joys equally, and will encourage you to do the same.

The biggest issue I often see is disconnection from mind body connection and reintegrating our natural response to emote and shake old emotions out of the body through somatic practices and processing experiences in a safe environment where we can be authentic with what we are experiencing without guilt or shame. Reconnecting to something bigger that's guiding us all home.

I am a certified Holistic Sex Therapist, certified Couples Institute therapist, Yoga Instructor, & pull from Internal Family Systems, Jungian Psychology, mindfulness-based stress reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Schema Therapy.

Conway Counseling & Wellness Center is a group private practice of practitioners with specialties in mental health and wellness including psychiatry. Our treatment is holistic and incorporates traditional counseling with wellness services such as art therapy, yoga therapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and massage. A client with anxiety could benefit from individual counseling, family therapy, yoga, and massage. Another client working to minimize an addiction could receive individual and group counseling, yoga for 12 step recovery, and hypnotherapy.
