I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arkansas. I enjoy working with adults, older teenagers, and couples. As a therapist, I believe the therapeutic relationship is central and that many of our struggles come from wounded relationships and difficulty with connection. I work to build a relationship of deep empathy and connection with my clients in addition to providing tools for working with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, body image, relationship struggles, career transitions, grief, low self esteem, "failure to launch", sexuality and gender, and interpersonal struggles.

I can think of no greater responsibility than keeping someone’s secrets or any greater joy than holding someone’s hand while they do the difficult work of changing their lives. I became a therapist because I believe in our ability to CHANGE. The ability to change is one of our greatest gifts and abilities, but in life sometimes we get STUCK. Stuck in bad relationships, stuck in dead-end jobs, or stuck in patterns of behavior that keep us miserable and defeated. My job and my joy is to help you get UN-stuck.

I can help you get to the 'heart' of the challenges and issues you're dealing with and make the lasting changes you’re longing for. Having been in practice over 40 years, I'm a seasoned therapist and have the tools and experience to resolve whatever is 'up' for you. I've found that 'talk therapy' is often not enough to resolve many difficulties, so I use a variety of effective approaches, uniquely adjusted to match each client's needs. In addition to talk therapy, I utilize Brainspotting; EMDR; Body Centered therapy; Meditative approaches and Hypnotherapy.

Sometimes trying to feel better feels hopeless. No matter what you do or try, your anxiety just won't go away. The depression keeps hitting you like waves in the ocean, coming up over and over again. Or maybe it's one of your most important relationships. You just can't seem to figure things out with your partner. No matter what parenting technique you try, you just can't seem to get through to your teenager. I don't know exactly where you are at today, but I do know how it can be intimidating to ask for help.

Hey there, I am NaTasha :) Have you admitted that you are not okay and that you need help getting unstuck? Where you are is completely understandable, I mean, you have been through A LOT, right? When life just keeps happening and the time isn't taken to address the impact of hard things, it gets REALLY tough. You can stop pushing through now, ok? Therapy offers you a space to pause, process, and heal. Please don't wait until one more thing happens that sends you into a spiral to call me...consider this your sign to get on my schedule.

Life can be hard, difficult, overwhelming, frustrating, and sometimes unbearable. You face so many challenges and disappointments – some which can’t even be shared with close friends and family. You go on like nothing is wrong, but it doesn’t stop the thoughts or emotions from hitting you at the most random times. Wishing and hoping it will go away hasn’t really worked either. If you read that and thought this is me, Heart Matters Therapy can help. Heart Matters Therapy provides mental health services to children, teens, and adults who are dealing with issues like anger, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and more.

You've been in an office all day, and probably the last thing you want to do is go to another office and talk about problems. My goal is to do therapy differently when possible, whether that means going outdoors and taking a walk or meeting from the comfort of your own home via secured telehealth. Either way, you'll experience evidence-based treatment in a new way. Check out my website for more about what to expect. If you need one-on-one care, we can do that. If you're on a budget, check out my Jaunts, which incorporate hiking and groups at a lower rate.

Life is hardest when we’re alone in our struggles and pain. We’re wired to bond with others and find safe connections with the ones we love. But sometimes it's hard to feel safe. And when we don't feel safe all sorts of negative emotions find their way to the surface. Anxiety, depression, sometimes even behavioral ruts like anger and shame. We just get stuck. And many times it seems like the harder we try to get out of these ruts, the more stuck we seem to get. But we all want the same things in our relationships. To be seen. To be heard. Are you there for me? Can I count on you? These are healthy goals!

Clients who are struggling but wanting to not only heal, but also grow have the potential for being extremely powerful people. We have all gone through difficult times, experiencing anxiety, fear, depression, and hopelessness. However, if we have healed, we look back and see those times as hard, but some of the most powerful in our lives. Hearts can become strong, marriages can be healed and become euphoric, and our families can become strong, powerful, and beautiful. If you have a Christian background, I can help you become stronger in your faith. If you want to become a stronger leader, I am also an executive coach.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
