I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work with a small team of amazing Associate Clinical Social Workers. Our specialties include working with children, teens and families, helping people of all ages heal from trauma and deal with stress and providing services including psychological evaluations for immigration cases. We also love working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, people who have migrated and their families and folks who have overcome multiple layers of hardship.

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a BA in Social Work from CSU, Chico and MA in Counseling Psychology from National University. I worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at the Tehama County Health Agency in the Juvenile division and as a MFT Trainee at Manzanita Elementary School, with a caseload of children ages 5-10. Additionally, I interned at a local non-profit, primarily seeing children and teens. I have been in private practice since 2015 with a focus on serving children and adolescents.

I provide counseling services in either English or Spanish. In addition to the rigorous education and training therapists are required to complete, I had an additional three-year training under Joan Rousseau, LCSW, in systems theory family therapy using a strategic problem-solving model. Previously, I enjoyed five years working in the addiction field and six years working in the child welfare field. I have served as an advocate for the Spanish-speaking community since 1985, and my focus in graduate school was on bilingualism-biculturalism-Spanish/Latino. As the mother of three sons, I chose to do focused study on men's issues.

Parish Health and Wellness (PHW) is a group practice providing telehealth counseling throughout California. Our therapist are talented at creating a space for healing! There are many of us struggling with life issues (such as divorce, depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction). We have 10 well trained and compassionate providers working with PHW. Albeit, its been a tough road, but shedding many ineffective beliefs, myths, and taboos I learned from my family and society I have let go.

I have worked in various clinical settings with diverse populations, including outpatient, integrated care settings, schools, hospital and community-based agencies.

Having support throughout the highs and the lows can help in the healing and make us stronger people. My goal in the session is to highlight strengths, explore the deeper cause of our emotions and actions, and to hold people accountable in a way that challenges them while lifting them up.
