Traumatic experiences in my family of the suicide of my brother, loss of my sister in a car accident that left me critically injured, and having a twin brother who suffered with schizophrenia has made me a strong, empathetic, and trusting therapist. Albeit, its been a tough road, but shedding many ineffective beliefs, myths, and taboos I learned from my family and society I have let go.
I understand depression, anxiety, grief, loss, disability/chronic illness, and negative body image . I'm a seven year breast cancer survivor and facilitated the 'womens cancer support group' held in Chico. I have worked with woman and men who feel they have no value or self-worth . Trust, hard work, and love cause growth.
In many cases the root of depression and anxiety is the result of not accepting yourself for who you are. I will work with you on ways to bring balance into your life by nurturing your heart, carrying through on good intentions and find meaning in your life.
