Hi, my name is Aurora and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with twenty plus years experience. During this time, I have developed a specialization for working with adults who are often successful in some areas of their life however feel stuck or unhappy in other areas often due to trauma. I work with clients who are willing to engage in the therapeutic process to better understand their history and unique story and to process maladaptive dynamics and body memories so they can live a healthier, more fulfilling life.
My approach is warm, relational, client-centered and culturally sensitive. My work is wholistic and explores both psychoanalytic themes and dynamics as well as how experiences are held within the nervous system. I integrate Psychoanalytic theory, Polyvagal Theory, Systems/Family therapy, neuroscience and Attachment-Focused EMDR.
I believe therapy is a form of self-care, when we allow ourselves to share and connect with another person and ourselves we can allow new insights and experiences to heal old wounds and allow for old hurts to be understood, processed and left in the past in a comforting way.
