I work with kids (ages 10 & up), teens, & adults to overcome life's challenges from the past and present. This includes things such as anxiety, self-harm & depression, relational struggles, abuse & trauma recovery, grief, self-image, and sexuality issues. I welcome clients of all sexual orientations, gender identities, levels of romantic/sexual interest, body shapes & sizes, and relational dynamics as well as ethnicities & spiritual beliefs in the fullness of who they are.

I specialize in working with children and adolescents and I tailor my approach to meet their unique needs. I can assist people of all ages in managing stressors, anxiety, depression and overcoming trauma, however my true passion is providing play therapy to children. I recognize the significance of building a strong connection with my clients and aim to provide them with a safe and nonjudgmental space to explore their emotions and experiences.

The journey of healing can be a daunting path, I strive to provide a safe and authentic environment in which I can walk alongside you as you explore your own story, and through it, find yourself. I graduated from John Brown University in 2018 with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Play Therapy. I have extensive training in trauma informed care, attachment based interventions, experiential play therapy, child centered play, Adlerian play and has completed level 1 theraplay training.

A recovered sense-of-self is essential for empowerment to face these issues. And, because this disconnect initially occurs in earliest childhood, traditional "talk" therapy alone is an insufficient approach. I am a therapist shaped by a myriad of life roles and events. I intentionally sought a PhD in clinical psychology with a specialization in "somatic psychology" to underscore my own therapeutic experience. Somatic psychology studies how the "body" informs and provides clues to our emotional responses linked to childhood.

James is a Licensed Psychological Examiner (LPE-I) in the state of Arkansas. He primarily works with teenagers (14+) and adults and has worked with clients with various issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, mood disorders, grief, and more. He received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Arkansas and his Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University.

I provide holistic and integrative mental health. I believe that therapy offers a unique opportunity for intensive emotional and intellectual growth so that one can be better equipped to lead a more productive and fulfilling life. An individual can begin to consider one's life from a different point of view by attaching new meaning to his/her past, explore new avenues for reaching life goals, decrease painful feelings and increase their ability to cope with life's stressors. I enjoy working with people who are facing challenges with anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and anger issues. Kirsten works with people who want to learn how to cope more effectively with stress, sadness, grief and loss, and anxiety. Kirsten loves to travel alongside LGBTQ folks as they find ways to reach their hopes and dreams for the future. Kirsten feels most effective working with people ages 9 and up. She especially enjoys helping teenagers and their families, and she also enjoys working with adults. Kirsten has been instrumental in developing and growing two pediatric gender clinics in Arkansas over the past 4 years to provide comprehensive care to transgender and non-binary youth and their families in our state.
