Common challenges of clients I've worked with over the years include healing from past and current trauma, anxiety, depression, feeling stuck or blocked, and transitions of all kinds.
Are you interested in living an authentic life and being true to the visions and callings of your heart? Sometimes that's not easy when unhealthy learned patterns and/or limiting or negative beliefs get in the way. Our work together can be a catalyst which calls out your inner strengths and resources providing the ultimate guidance to experiencing more happiness and contentment. Life doesn't move in a straight line, instead the path twists and turns providing obstacles and hurdles. It's these challenges that present a doorway to living a more authentic life. You are not alone.

My interests include working with individuals around addiction, trauma, anxiety and unhealthy relationships.
Getting to the heart of intense emotions and changing the status quo can be frightening. Yet, so is the idea of remaining in a place that is no longer sustainable. You know it’s time to stop trying to fill that void with what is no longer working. It can be very difficult to step out of expectations and into your authentic self. The decision to seek professional therapy and create movement in your life says you are ready. Anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors and negative relationship patterns can become so overwhelming that we feel distrust in everything, especially ourselves.

TMS delivers magnetic pulses across neural pathways to activate mood centers in the brain and naturally combat depression and anxiety, also creating lasting change.
Imagine if you were emotionally in a place happiness. A place where you could reconnect with old friends, enjoy trips with family, feel empowered to reconnect emotionally with your partner. If you or your loved one is suffering from depression and have tried various medications and therapy without the results that you need and deserve, we can help. We at Creative Solutions TMS use an alternative to medicine approach to treat each individual who is experiencing depression, anxiety, and related conditions. We work with healthcare providers to achieve optimum outcomes using TMS therapy, also called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.

I have had or worry about side effects from depression medications.
Perhaps you have been struggling for years with symptoms related to depression. Numerous appointments with doctors and a variety of medications have not helped. Maybe you want to get off meds completely, but have never been able to find an alternative solution. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) may be the intervention that can change your life. I have been helping people get through difficult things for the last 20 years. I and my staff are excited to offer this intervention to help you change your life.

Hello, I’m James, and thank you for being here. Whether you are new to therapy or have been sitting on the therapy chaise lounge for years, welcome! First off, there is no perfect way to do therapy and there is no perfect way to be a client. So, I hope for you less pressure and worry in exploring this curious thing called therapy. I strive to make my practice safe, comfortable, individualized and resourceful. Another core tenant of my practice that I find equally important: your agency. You are the expert of you, even if you may not always feel as such - I'll do my very best to be of resource to you. (Response 48-72 hrs)

Therapy is a safe space to explore our lives and the things that can be hard about being human. Challenges can often present as anxiety, depression, or as relationship difficulties within ourselves or with others. I respect and admire my clients for taking the step to enter into therapy as advocates for their needs and goals.

I believe that every one has a story that needs to be told- a story that defines who they are, how they arrived at this point in their lives, and what is keeping them stuck in unhelpful patterns of behavior.

Was it difficult to click on this page? Well you did it and if that is your accomplishment for the day then that is one step closer towards healing. It is my belief that healing is a series of small, humble steps leading to transformation. Pain takes many forms, headaches, chronic physical pain, the pain from loss, the pain from one's limitations after a serious diagnosis, the pain from abuse and the pain from the love that you didn't receive. These experiences teaches us some harsh lessons that keep us safe, but they can also keep us trapped.

Recovery from trauma is my specialization. I care deeply about each person who steps into my office, and the alliance we can create could be life-changing for you. I am trained in EMDR, a psychotherapy that can de-code the traumatic memories and beliefs that are stuck within your brain and nervous system. EMDR can then rewire your brain with positive beliefs such as "I am good enough as I am" or "I'm valuable". Once you believe good things about yourself, you start living differently! I love EMDR and fully believe in its power to heal many different types of trauma.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
