I am IFS Level 1 trained and also treat ADHD, PTSD, Anxiety, and more.
You never thought you would feel like this, but here you are. You're feeling lost and uncertain of yourself, your relationships, even your feelings. You don't know what direction you are heading or where you should go. You've tried to explain your feelings to those closest to you, but being vulnerable is some scary shit. It's all so exhausting. All you know is that you are ready to make some changes. You are tired of feeling stuck and the changes might be scary, but nothing is as frightening as staying like this. You haven't felt like yourself in a long time and trying to find that version of you on your own isn't working right now.

I specialize in school-related assessments (giftedness, learning disabilities, dyslexia, 2E) and diagnostic assessments (autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression).
Why is my child struggling in school? What treatments would be best for me? Does my child have autism? Do I? If questions like these have been on your mind, a psychological assessment is an investment you should make.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, various forms of addiction, autism, & more. Are your goals oriented towards reducing maladaptive symptoms, identifying the behaviors you wish to engage in, being the person you want to be, and, ultimately, the life you aspire to live? Do you desire change and growth & are willing to put the necessary effort in? As your counselor, I do not effect change; that responsibility belongs to you. I aim to empower you to recognize your innate strengths, develop them further, and effectively use them towards your goals in life.

Update: I have daytime availability for new clients. Hello! I enjoy working with adults to break through their negative beliefs and self-imposed glass ceilings. Often these clients feel stuck and frequently self-sabotage their goals. Commonly these blocks can be caused by past negative experiences (bullying, critical parents, narcissistic relationships) as an adult or as a child. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other techniques to remove these blocks so the client can easily move towards their goals. I also enjoy working with college students struggling to balance school, ADHD and other stressors.

Have you thought of what life would be life without the chatter in your mind, without questioning the future and facing hurdles daily due to the consistent barriers within self? Therapy can be an intimidating journey, but a rewarding one. My focus is ADHD, body image as well trauma, primarily the lens of intergenerational trauma, however, there are many parallels to both these areas of focus. I also work with couples to achieve deeper levels of intimacy.

ADHD? Anxiety? Depression? Parental struggles? Teenager? I will assist you in discovering what it is that you truly want and offering supportive talk therapy to address obstacles to achieving a confident and healthy version of yourself.
So many times we are held back from being the full and true version of ourselves because of negative thought patterns and misguided feelings that we have about ourselves and the world around us. Becoming a healthy and fulfilled version of ourselves free from societal expectations can be scary. What if I lose people? What if I am wrong about what I want? What if my family won't accept me? What if I fail? What if I can't do it? I am seeing clients of all ages and walks of life to help them become the people that they want to be. I want to provide a space where everyone feels safe to be 100% themselves.

My areas of interest include college students, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship conflicts, family stressors, LGBTQIA+ community members, goal and boundary setting, ADHD, ASD, self-esteem issues, difficulties with adjustment and change, and identity development/exploration.
My counseling philosophy is to create a therapeutic relationship that allows individuals to express their authenticity and different identities through vulnerability. I believe that through self-compassion, giving space to our emotions, and by processing our thoughts, feelings, and experiences, we can heal and grow through life's most debilitating stressors. I am passionate about helping you create a life worth living.

Being a child and adolescent can be a tough, and confusing time. So many complex emotions that are difficult to understand or identify. Feelings of anger, sadness, or fear are all normal, but sometimes your child may need extra help with what to do with those feelings. The struggles of daily life, a bully at school, change in living situation or a divorce can all make it even more difficult to navigate these feelings and emotions. Maybe your child is struggling to focus in the classroom, has trouble getting along with peers, stays up late worrying before bed, or cannot sit still in the classroom.

Lately you're lucky to make it through a whole day without, at least once, daydreaming about quitting your job, ending your relationship, and starting over in a new state. You don't remember life, work, and relationships being this hard. Plus, now you're experiencing guilt because of these thoughts! You used to enjoy these parts of your life and found real meaning and deep value from them. You can't remember when everything changed and it seems impossible to get back to that place where you felt excited about the day, felt heard and understood, confident, and hopeful. I know you're struggling, but I also see you haven't given up.

My ideal client is ready to do the hard work of making real change in their life. Sometimes, people think change has to be big to start therapeutic services; it doesn’t. Sometimes, learning to breathe, decrease anxiety, and be more mindful of your strengths can become a great asset. Therapy doesn’t have to be forever; sometimes, you just need help getting through the now. I help individuals & families dealing with chronic illnesses and end of life. At times like those, crises often happen: medical conflict, spiritual conflict, familial conflict, financial concerns, housing and food insecurity.

It can be exhausting to cope with self-criticism and the feeling of never being good enough. Whether you're used to criticizing your body, your academic/work performance, or your social relationships, it can be tough to imagine a world in which you are kind to yourself. Through therapy, we can work together to address your inner critic and find new ways to cope with the stress of everyday life.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
