My experience working in mental health spans over 25 years in a variety of settings and with many psychological and emotional concerns. I am licensed to see patients in both Kentucky and Indiana. I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology with emphasis training in Behavioral Health and Spanish Counseling. I completed my post doctoral residency in general mental health with Veterans Affairs. I have specialty training in LGBTQ+ issues and trauma recovery; including certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. I also specialize in psychological evaluations for varying issues including differential diagnosis, cross-sex hormone/surgery readiness, and disability.

I am a mother of four, within a special needs household, and a retired Marine spouse of 20+ years, I have experienced and overcome a distinct set of challenges throughout my personal and professional life that makes me a therapist who can relate to my clients. I have been working with the members of our community for over eight years and have partnered with various agencies throughout the city to ensure success for my clients. Throughout my education and experience, I have found that the therapeutic approaches I favor, but not limited to, are Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I would like to utilize my experience gained throughout my career to empower clients from all age ranges with-in the Lexington community.

We live in a very fast pace world. Responsibilities, pressure to perform professionally and in the personal level. Success is expected from us in all aspects of our lives at all times. I love what I do, it is both my purpose and passion. I describe my working style as being one of a navigator. I help individuals navigate their personal struggles, desires/needs, and blind spots. I encourage my clients to take the steering wheel, while I navigate from the passenger seat. My goal is to ensure you maintain the right path and ultimately reach the desired destination. Ask yourself, am I inching closer, each day towards the best version of my life, or am I on the wrong path and going the wrong way? As far as my approach, my job is to adapt to you and figure out which therapeutic modality will be most effective.
