My specialties include life changes and adjustments, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, the Latinx community, and Spanish-speaking.
Those who take the steps towards asking for help to process what is occurring in their life, display strength. This can allow the individual to build the resiliency needed to conquer any difficulties in life. I strongly believe that the way we shape our thoughts impacts our feelings and behaviors. I hope that through therapy you may become equipped with the tools you need to navigate successfully through life. I became a psychotherapist because I am fueled by a passion for helping and my resilient walk. I worked with several client populations including children in foster care, seniors, and adults in the behavioral health setting.

I work with adults, teens and children with co-occurring disorders, such as depression, grief, anxiety, I-DD, bipolar disorder, substance use, ADHD, and trauma.
I look forward to assisting you with developing the skills to live a more abundant life while implementing the tools that you already have! Life can be hard at times and with the right coping skills, life can be more manageable to those experiencing depression, grief, anxiety, substance use, and other mental health issues. Working with those who have experienced relationship issues, such as infidelity, abuse (domestic, verbal and/ or physical) can learn how to become a survivor instead of a victim. I know that building a healthy therapeutic relationship is the first step in the therapy process in a non-judgmental environment.

I have been successfully practicing therapy for over twenty years. The clients I work with prior to enrolling in treatment express that they feel frustrated, ignored and helpless. I provide individual, couple, and family telehealth therapy. I have successfully treated clients who have experienced physical, emotional, and sexual trauma. I also treat clients with anxiety, anger, communication, depression, and men's issues. My clients see significant improvement and develop tools and skills over time in treatment. I'm very proactive in my person centered approach.

As a licensed therapist my goal is to make the counseling process one of comfort and growth. I understand that it isn't easy to make change, and it can be both difficult and painful to address an issue that is truly weighing you down. I believe in a holistic approach to counseling and am also trained in many evidence based techniques. At this time I am unable to accept new clients who require weekend or evening hours.

I enjoy working with individuals who want to find out who they are and where they want to go. I specialize in working with people going through major life transitions, desire to have a stronger sense of identity, and asking serious questions about their view of life. Because of this, I specialize in working with those who are in the LGBTQ+ community, Gen Z and Millennials, and those impacted by major changes such as moving away from home, divorce, job changes, and more. Further, I work closely with those going through spiritual questioning, no matter their faith.

I'm a therapist with a focus on helping people find relief from anxiety, stress, PTSD, and trauma. I use a unique method called Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) to achieve this. NET helps address underlying anxieties and traumas held within your mind and body, and it often provides lasting relief in as few as one session. This is a stark contrast to traditional talk therapy, which can be time-consuming, expensive, and slow-moving. As a licensed acupuncturist and the leading NET provider in the area, I'm committed to helping you find resolution quickly. My goal is to completely address your concerns in 5 sessions or less.

I enjoy counseling with all age populations. I will look at interactions, behaviors, and temperaments of the individuals and how family, friends, and society influence reactions. In assessing the situation, we will focus on the here and the now and reflect on the past only to promote change and growth in the present. New skills will be taught, and individuals are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions.

It is my belief that within each of us, the mind, body, and spirit work in unison to maintain a sense of balance and wellness. However, there are times when we may encounter challenges and unanticipated events that may cause a disturbance in these areas, which may be evidenced by undesirable thoughts, feelings or behaviors. I have the required training, licensure and experience to practice individual, group, and marriage/family counseling with all age groups encompassing a general range of presenting problems/concerns.

Depression, anxiety, or trauma can stop you from enjoying your day-to-day life! It is not easy dealing with all the thoughts and emotions that are always stirred up. My hope is that together we can work to find balance and peace in your life. We cannot change the past but we can change how we think, cope and manage it today! Many struggle alone unable to truly move forward and find that freedom of internal happiness. Give me a call and together we can find your happy place!

The events that happen are not intended to be permanent, but instead are part of our journey. It is our story being written and we have the ability to choose the next chapter. The path of life can have difficult times, often with unexpected twists and turns. When this occurs, it can be beneficial to have someone walk with you through the challenging times. My clients are motivated to write their own story, to have someone support them but to work towards empowerment, self-confidence, internal peace, and ultimate healing. My clients know their past does not define them but instead empower them to be the best they can be!

Bipolar Disorder Therapists

What is the most successful approach to treating bipolar disorder?

Living with bipolar disorder can be challenging, and a number of therapies have been found effective in providing support to patients as they gain the skills to understand and manage the disorder. Family-focused therapy is often helpful for children and teens (the majority of cases develop before age 19); it aims to minimize mood cycling by improving family communication and reducing conflict. It also helps young people navigate the developmental challenges the disorder can create. Cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) and variants such as Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)help patients manage the thoughts and feelings that influence bipolar mood swings as well as develop specific behavioral strategies to counteract them.

What happens in therapy for bipolar disorder?

Because the patterns of mood switching and its triggers differ for each person and can change over time, mood tracking or monitoring becomes a basic way patients learn about the nature of their condition. One of the most common features of therapy is finding a workable method of mood monitoring, in which patients track their daily activities and rate their moods, then use the findings to adjust routines accordingly. Patients learn ways of handling the many stresses that arise in life so that they do not trigger mood swings.

What kinds of problems does therapy help with?

Like many other mental health disorders, BPD is heavily influenced by stress; therapy provides skills for coping with stressors of all kinds. Therapy is extremely important for helping individuals identify the situations that may trigger mood switching, so that mood swings can be prevented. Therapy may especially target recognition of the early stages of mood change so that they can be managed. In addition, therapy helps patients deal with the significant amount of turbulence the disorder can create in relationships and in work life.

What is the goal of therapy for bipolar disorder?

Therapy helps patients set up their lives to maintain stability so that their mood isn’t constantly threatened by daily events. Perhaps the first task of therapy is to educate people about the nature of the disorder. At the same time, a primary goal of therapy is to enhance adherence to drug treatment. Extended periods of mood stability can prompt patients to discontinue medication, triggering relapse, while the early phases of manic episodes can feel so energizing that patients stop medication, ushering in full-blown mania and the altered self-perception that can lead to destructive behaviors. Another major goal of therapy is to understand one’s mood patterns so as to minimize both the frequency and intensity of mood cycling.
