I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 15 years, and enjoy creating a therapy environment that is supportive, open, and warm. I provide therapeutic treatment for individuals, couples and families on the problems they experience in their lives and relationships. I encourage a space where patients can lean into their experiences, becoming more comfortable with their thoughts and feelings throughout the process. I often incorporate humor into our sessions while helping my patients to develop a new relationship with themselves and their various emotional, psychological and behavioral experiences.

As your therapist, I hold with deep respect and appreciation the unique role I play in your life. I know it takes a great deal of courage to start therapy and how necessary it is to find the right fit. My aim is to create a welcoming environment where you feel safe, trusting and open to be yourself. My approach is warm, attentive, caring and nonjudgemental.

The only constant in life is change. However, change can often be challenging and painful, leaving us feeling stuck in old patterns. I believe that every individual is capable of change, given the right tools and support. Utilizing a client-centered, humanistic, and trauma-informed approach, I provide the safe, supportive space that my clients need in order to achieve the growth and change that they seek. Having worked most recently with members of the LGBTQ community, I understand how important it is to have the acceptance and support of someone in a non-judgmental space in order to grow.

As a therapist my greatest joy is to empower you to reach your highest potential and meet your unique desires and goals. In our work together I will serve as a guide for you to explore and discover a deeper understanding of your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. We do this through a combination of empirically validated psychotherapy treatments, creating a safe and trusting space, instilling a sense of empowerment, processing unresolved issues, and teaching the needed skills to succeed.

I am committed to working with young adults who are experiencing grief, trauma, anxiety, and family issues to heal and move towards greatness. My Masters in Counseling and Mental Health from University of Pennsylvania has helped me provide young adults in the state with therapeutic interventions, life skills training and crisis management/prevention for many different reasons. At a time when young adults are experiencing high amounts of distress, stress and pain in all areas, I seek to be a supportive & safe place of healing without judgment and with relatable honesty, despite our unsafe city.

My clients are adults looking for help with depression, anxiety and relationship issues. Some wish to have more freedom and joy, and less fear in life. I'm trained in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and Focusing approaches. I also use Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) which helps clients reach and articulate their helpful, deeper emotions (like healthy anger & grief), to transform unhelpful emotions (like fear & shame) carried over from the past.

My goal is to help patients improve their well-being by addressing mental health issues and/or addictions through the use of various treatments. Depending on your specific needs, Wave Treatment Centers offers a range of approaches from traditional medications to newer therapies such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Additionally, talk therapy is often recommended as an essential component for personal growth and learning to effectively manage symptoms. I believe in honoring each patient's unique personal history, values, and treatment goals during the process of developing an effective treatment plan.

People who seek psychotherapy often describe feeling “stuck”. You might feel lethargic, restlessly idle, persistently overwhelmed or isolated. Or perhaps you have noticed that you are repeating self-destructive patterns of behaviors or relationships? Maybe you are having trouble making progress towards life goals or are unable connect to feelings of interest, pleasure . . . joy.

People seek therapy for many different reasons. It’s not unusual for the main theme to be having discontent with daily life struggles. Our work together will center on your reasons for inquiring about therapy and I will tailor sessions in response to your therapeutic thoughts and goals. We will work collaboratively to uncover what may be getting in the way of your experiencing life with more enjoyment.

Every day is filled with parenting battles that leave you exhausted and guilt-ridden, having lost your temper too many times. You ache for a more peaceful home and a loving relationship with your child or teen, but you don’t know how to get there. General advice and tips sound good on paper but they are not working with your child, and you don’t know why. Your energy and resilience are taking a serious hit. Worst of all, you are afraid that your child will be emotionally harmed by all the turmoil that goes on from day to day.

My focus of interest is to become a therapeutic container to support the exploration of the mind-body connection within children, teens and adults. I believe that the body carries valuable information about ourselves and our minds are actively trying to interpret it. I specialize in children who seek to improve their body awareness which provides coping skills for self-regulation, positive self-talk and overall physical/mental wellness. I have experience working with children with autism, adopted families, neurodivergent movers and people simply want a better connection with their bodies

There are those times in our lives when our discomfort with ourselves or others, just becomes too uncomfortable and you need to take an action that would solve the problem once and for all. Psychotherapy is that action. Confiding in someone who is respectful and competent, in that they can clarify your issues, right from the first session, can make your stress, no matter how high the stress, seem solvable. I am that therapist.
Once clarity is reached, understanding and solving problems follow. Individual, couple or full family issues are addressed.

Hi! I’m Kri, and I know how daunting the task of finding a therapist can be. It’s kind of a big deal to ask for help. That’s why I am thoughtful in making sure we’re a good fit. Most clients who I see are in their mid-20’s through late 40’s. I am a recovery-focused eating disorder therapist. I see clients through adult life changes. While I solely work with individuals, many of my clients choose to work with me for my systemic approach - meaning, we can totally talk about your family (boundaries, anyone?) and relationships. A firm believer in the healing power of laughter, I'll likely to weave moments of levity into our sessions.

It may feel overwhelming to reach out for help and to trust someone else with your thoughts and feelings, not to mention your past experiences and hopes and dreams for the future. I understand how challenging it can be to figure out who you are, where you want to go, and how to get there - and how difficult it is to start taking those initial steps toward self-discovery. I believe that the journey is more important than the destination since goals tend to be redefined through the learning that occurs in therapy.

I believe an important part of the therapy process is developing a flexible and collaborative relationship in which the client feels safe to explore, understand, and change relationships and behaviors, so that he or she may grow in a satisfying, creative, and life enhancing way. I have worked as a clinician for over twenty years and maintain a general practice for adults, families and children.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
