I planned on practicing general medicine but discovered a passion for psychiatry and saw a need for prescribing providers in that field. Health and wellness includes all aspects of our lives and should be integrated. So understanding medical issues and the science of how physical and mental health interact and affect the patient’s life and function leads to my holistic or integrated approach to care.

I am a UTSW trained Adult and Child/Adolescent psychiatrist providing customized treatment based on individual needs. I am committed to improving the wellness of my patients through a flexible and responsive approach. I specialize in diagnosing and treating depression, mood problems, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and behavioral issues associated with cognitive and developmental delays and other psychiatric illnesses. I am well versed in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), family therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy (insight-oriented psychotherapy). I'm board certified (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry.

My vision of care includes identifying strengths, weaknesses, unique abilities and challenges of the person. This helps me to develop a comprehensive individualized plan in an integrative holistic model of care. I like to follow evidence based treatment approach. As every person’s need is unique, I try to develop a plan of care which best addresses this need and it ranges from just talk therapy to talk therapy plus medication management or only medication management.

I am a child and adolescent psychiatrist who attended both my adult and child and adolescent psychiatry training in Austin, TX. I am board-certified in adult psychiatry in addition to child and adolescent psychiatry. I provide assessment and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric issues including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, developmental disorders, ADHD, and other behavioral issues. I have specific training in trauma-informed care and enjoy working with individuals and families. I like to focus on both psychotherapy and medication management approaches to help address the concerns at hand and empower the client.
