Physician Assistants are medical professionals educated and trained in general medicine, much like physicians, but in a shorter period of time and then certified and licensed to work in collaboration with physicians. I planned on practicing general medicine but discovered a passion for psychiatry and saw a need for prescribing providers in that field.
