Hey there, my name is Dr. Christy Vadakkan. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Miami (“Go Canes”) and medical school at Nova Southeastern University, Psychiatry residency training at Palm Beach Consortium of Graduate Medical Education. Later I completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine. I have worked with a wide variety of patients with depression, anxiety, and ADHD. The hands-on care, education, and service needed behind treating the emotional, physical, and mental states of my patients have fueled my passion for psychiatry.

I help patients verbalize their feelings and why they feel that way. I help patients process their thoughts individually to see the reasons and justifications for their thoughts and associated beliefs. It is that belief that arose from their experiences in the past, creating their behavior in that time. If everyone realizes that their experiences have no relation to the truth of an event and that they do not have to think similarly, they can change their thinking process every time. This can alter destructive thought and behavior patterns into a more helpful, healthy mindset.

My ideal client may seek help for one condition or a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, or addiction. They require understanding, coping skills, and support to enhance their well-being, including medication management when necessary. Dr. Gundu Reddy is a Board Certified Psychiatrist in New York City. Prior to starting residency at Mount Sinai School of medicine she pursued additional research in HIV psychiatry . As well as residency training, she has also pursued further training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the NYU psychoanalytic institute. She states that whether prescribing medication, family, or relationship therapy, understanding psychodynamic conflict and causes of symptoms will cause help enhance quality of care. As well as psychodynamic training Dr Reddy also has a background in integrative psychiatry and treatment resistance.
