Marie Fariñas provides Play therapy for ages 4-11 yrs to manage emotional difficulties and help improve associated behaviours. For older children, adolescents and young adults, Expressive Arts Therapy sessions are suitable to address self-esteem issues, identity, and/or depression. For adults who may not know how to start talking about difficulties, Sand-Story Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Expressive Arts Therapy are safe ways to begin exploring and expressing oneself. Each client is invited to make use of the resources provided to work on vulnerabilities, alleviate stress, and grow emotional strength.

Brigid is an Art Psychotherapist with considerable experience of working with children, adolescents and parents/guardians, and has gained significant knowledge in the area of intellectual disabilities. She is passionate about creating safe and containing spaces in order to enable clients to explore their individual needs and reach their unique potential. 

I offer safe, supportive and creative environment that supports children and adults to deal with and overcome challenges they encounter on their life journey. Art therapy process facilitates both verbal and non-verbal communication that can help to make sense of and process emotional material.

Everyone is unique and my belief is that every problem has more than one solution. I am committed to life-long learning and so far I have trained in psychology, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. I have worked in many industries and I am still learning. I am a fully accredited Art Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from Crawford College of Art and Design, and ​I have also completed my clinical training as a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist with the Tivoli Institute in Dublin. I work with adults, adolescents and children in individual sessions with an integrative and creative approach to therapy.​ I respond to each client’s individual needs and this may be through talk therapy or creative arts therapy approaches to promote healing, generate growth and insight to their situation, help develop their resources and strengths, and to resolve personal issues.

My aim in therapy is to connect with the person, allowing them to feel safe and heard, supporting them to make sense of their lives. I provide a calm and comfortable space for people to explore their difficulties, using evidence-based theory to structure and support their emerging story. This allows us to work together to gently and safely unravel tangled elements of the past, freeing the person to move forward into the future they see for themselves.

I help adults and adolescents deal with loss, bereavement, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and school related issues etc. I specialise in helping clients who have experienced acute or chronic trauma, e.g. in childhood or in an abusive relationship. I use a unique combination of Bioenergy Healing and Psychotherapy to help calm and heal the nervous system overwhelmed by trauma. This approach also works very well for highly sensitive persons.
