About

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is an evidence based treatment designed to help manage impulsive behaviors, emotional responses, and self-destructive urges. DBT was developed as a comprehensive cognitive-behavioral treatment and empirical research has shown that DBT can also help address a variety of other concerns including eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and mood disorders. DBT skills can help you manage stress and live a healthier, more meaningful life. A specific goal of DBT is its focus on keeping patients out of the hospital, even in the face of self-injurious or suicidal behavior. PBS offers DBT for children, adolescents, and adults.

Nutrition Assessment & Counseling

At PBS, we take a non-diet, Health at Every Size (HAES) approach to nutrition, and we support clients to develop healthier, happier relationships with food. Our team specializes in Intuitive Eating (IE), eating disorders, metabolic conditions, GI health, and general nutrition for adults and children over five. Working one-on-one with individuals, we emphasize the importance of personalized nutrition. Our goal is to help you reach your unique goals while providing support, encouragement, and validation along the way! Our practice also offers several nutrition-related groups, including a group that introduces participants to the principles of Intuitive Eating. Whether you are working with us individually or in a group setting, we would love to help you gain confidence in nourishing your body.

Medication Management & Psychological Testing

Our psychiatrists (MD) target medical management of behavioral health conditions by completing a comprehensive assessment, prescribing medications, ordering lab work, and recommending therapeutic services. Our assessment team performs comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess academic achievement, memory, cognitive functioning, personality and behavioral functioning in children, adolescents, college students, and adults. All psychological assessment services include an initial interview, an interpretive conference following completion of the assessment, and a written report of the assessment results with recommendations.
