"Gina was featured in last year's Loudoun 100- Alimond Studio's Special project to highlight 100 amazing people in Loudoun County making a difference in their community! Gina Carey is a Treatment Consultant for American Addiction Centers covering the Northern Virginia and Maryland area. Though she started working in the mental health field in 2004, it wasn't until 2011 that Gina worked exclusively with co-occurring clients at Sheppard Pratt Hospital, connecting them to services after discharge. It was in that role that she learned about AAC and started utilizing their Treatment Consultants on a regular basis. In 2014 Gina moved to Virginia and became part of the AAC team. After more than ten years since her first role in the mental health field, Gina remains passionate about helping others. She now resides in Sterling, Virginia with her husband Thomas, and their cats Cleo and Leo."

"Center For Discovery has been providing residential treatment for women and teens for over 20 years. At Center For Discovery, we provide residential treatment for women with eating disorders, teens with eating disorders, teens with mental health disorders, and teens with substance abuse issues. Each of our locations is dedicated solely to one of our specialized treatment programs. By keeping each location specialized to one of our treatment programs, we are able to provide the most effective and efficient treatment. All of our locations provide treatment for only a small number of residents at one time to maintain an intimate setting and a high staff to resident ratio. Treatment within a residential neighborhood allows our residents to feel more comfortable in a familiar surrounding and provides greater transferability and internalization of the treatment experience to life after treatment. We place a high priority on providing an environment where our clients feel like and are treated like people, never patients."

"Having been there ourselves, we truly understand what you are going through. When it comes to substance abuse, we feel it is vital to get to know the person and allow them the time to be heard. By doing this, it gives us a much better idea of which treatment options will provide the highest success rate in addressing both the addiction and it's root causes. No matter what your situation, with over 50 different inpatient programs at our disposal, we are confident in our ability to find the best fit for you. There will never be any judgement or cost for our consultation, only straight forward solutions."
