National Capital Treatment & Recovery
We are passionate about healing individuals, families, and communities challenged by substance use disorders and related mental health conditions. For more than fifty-eight years, National Capital Treatment & Recovery (NCTR) has been the area's leader in drug rehabilitation, operating programs to serve residents of Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and beyond. NCTR offers a full continuum of care for patients struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. These services include assessment, education, intensive outpatient, and medically managed gender-specific residential treatment. We know that with a thorough assessment, appropriate comprehensive care, and individualized treatment, those struggling with addiction and dual diagnosis disorders can recover and reclaim their lives. Additionally, we offer Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioids and alcohol. Family involvement is encouraged in the treatment process. We realize our mission through a focus on the distinct needs of every person. the innovation of best-in-class prevention, treatment, and recovery programs; and the promotion of greater understanding of addiction.
Residential Treatment Services
National Capital Treatment & Recovery offers medically managed, gender-specific residential inpatient treatment programs for adults. All programs have a flexible length of stay based on the individual client's needs. The treatment team includes a Medical Doctor, Psychiatrist, Nursing staff, Licensed and Master's level counselors as well as highly trained recovery support staff. All staff have a minimum of a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credential. In the woman's residential program, women have the option to have one child under the age of five with them in treatment. Additionally, we accept pregnant women at all stages of pregnancy. All programs offer evidence-based treatment practices to included trauma-informed programming and co-occurring services. We realize our mission through a focus on the distinct needs of every person; a holistic approach that seeks to address mental, physical, and social health; the innovation of best-in-class prevention, treatment, and recovery programs; and the promotion of greater understanding of addiction.
Outpatient Treatment Services
The Counseling Center in Arlington offers assessments, various treatment options, and education services for adults. A thorough clinical assessment is the first step in determining the specific needs of an individual for whom substance use appears to be a problem. Highly skilled clinicians who specialize in substance use disorders are available to assess the extent of the problem and motivate clients for change. The Counseling Center offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and outpatient treatment. Call or Email
