I enjoy being easygoing with a desire to focus on connecting with you, encouraging you, and helping you. You want someone to help you figure out who you really are at your core, what you believe about yourself, others, and the world around you, and why you do the things you do. I aim to provide you with the best care I can based on the support from the collective decades of experience of my professors, supervisor, and my university's library of empirically researched materials.

My approach is grounded in the belief that everyone has the potential to heal and experience positive growth. Using cultural competence, I provide a trauma focused, safe and supportive environment to explore, gain awareness, develop new coping skills to feel empowered. I have 25 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults as a former educator. For the past six years, I have supported clients in a clinical setting, from ages 12 to 65, with challenges such as: anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, substance use, betrayal trauma, religious trauma, neurodivergence, ADHD, grief/loss, gender and sexual identity.

Megan has experience working with those who have depression, anxiety, and with the aging population. Her approach to therapy is person centered, holistic, and focused on cognitive behavioral therapies. She has experience running psychiatric therapeutic groups using mindfulness techniques, music therapy, art therapy, and recreational therapy. In her experiences as a recreational therapist, she has seen that people need balance in their lives. She has helped many people achieve this balance through recreational therapy. Now she is starting a new path to help others find this balance through individual therapy.

Roger Durfey has extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as well as Solution Focused, mindfulness, and STEPS therapy. For two decades, he has worked with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, and families in both individual and group sessions. Roger has successfully helped those struggling with a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, addictions, substance abuse, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and adjusting to illness or physical disability.

I know what it's like to struggle with the challenges of family, parenting, aging, grief, employment, marriage, life transitions, career loss, self fulfillment and purpose. Married for over 44 years, having owned a family business, I learned firsthand how to find purpose and peace in the midst of stress, depression, loss, anxiety and grief. I draw on personal experiences of raising children, marriage, owning a business, aging parents, loss of loved ones, major life transitions, depression, anxiety, addiction and stress. These life experiences give me a unique understanding and ability to help clients overcome similar challenges.

Hi, I'm Dr. Meg, the owner of Golden Heart Therapy. I received my Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Michigan State University. I have been a professor of Marriage and Family Therapy and have worked as a supervisor and therapist in private practice. At Golden Heart Therapy, we specialize in our work with children, couples, and individuals. We help with various problems, including couple conflict, divorce, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, and more. We believe each person holds the key to their own inherent growth and change. We want to help you uncover those strengths.

Life throws each of us curve balls we don't expect. I have supported clients managing substance abuse issues, immigration related assessment needs, as well as depression, anxiety, and stress. I am the clinical director for Center For Human Potential, located in downtown Salt Lake City. We focus on helping people achieve balance and fulfillment. We have many talented psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists able to help children, adolescents, adults, and seniors with a variety of difficulties. We provide counseling to individuals, couples, and families. We also prescribe psychiatric medication and offer psychological testing to screen for ADHD and learning disabilities. We accept most health insurance plans and offer a sliding fee scale, based on income level, for those without insurance.

She has experience working with kids after interning for the Alpine School District, providing individual and group therapy. Her clinical skills shine through in her work with individuals struggling with anxiety and depression, offering them effective therapeutic interventions tailored to their unique needs. Her dedication to exploring and addressing identify issues has been invaluable in guiding clients toward a more authentic & self-affirming self.
