My experience as an individual and group therapist includes settings in private and outpatient therapy, therapeutic foster care, psychiatric hospitalization, an academic boarding program, a Christian private school, a residential program for survivors of sex trafficking, substance abuse treatment and prison release/re-entry programs. My client has difficulty with change and is unable to look at the positive side of things. Normally I see this in young adults feel are not reach their potential and are running out of time. I work from a self-in-context perspective, deeply attuning to the ways not only our family, religion, and culture impact us, but how inequities around race, gender, and sexuality inform our sense of self-and-other as well.

I am an English/Spanish counselor whose main goal is to help my clients find hope, resilience and solutions to their problems. My academic and life experiences have shown me that most challenges and frustrations have solutions. I help my clients understand that the solution is within him/her during those moments when they feel they're unable to endure life's challenges and problems. We uncover the "where, when, and how" and then we find the "why" (reasons) underlying the feelings of doom and frustration. This allows us to discover and implement workable solutions.
