Hi! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in TX and FL, and for more than 20 yrs I’ve helped others move through some of the hardest seasons of their lives. I also know these struggles from the inside. I’ve struggled w/anxiety, depression, Mother wounds, PMDD, postpartum, parenting stress, relationship difficulties, and perimenopause. Because I’ve walked these paths myself, I bring a grounded, non‑judgmental presence to therapy. I understand how heavy life can feel and how powerful it is to have someone in your corner who truly gets it. Together, we’ll work toward clarity, healing, and a version of your life that feels manageable

When we are young, we have a vision of what we want our lives to become. We want the best for our children, to have strong positive relationships, be happy, and achieve success. We see ourselves in a job that is fun and fulfilling something we want to do, and a group of friends with which to embark on adventures. Through the ebbs and flows of life, that vision we had when we were young transforms. We encounter obstacles, personal traumas, and life-altering events that significantly impact our well-being. We get caught up in pleasing others, providing for others, and longing for something more.

You may feel stuck in patterns that make relationships hard—shaped by early family wounds, emotional neglect, or never feeling fully seen. These parts of you aren’t broken—they’re protective. Using an IFS (Internal Family Systems) approach, I help you gently explore these parts with compassion, so you can build healthier connections with yourself and others. Healing is possible when we learn to listen within. If you're ready to shift old dynamics and feel more whole in your relationships, I’m here to support you.

I specialize in supporting individuals who are ready to navigate the complexities of personal growth, behavioral change, and major life shifts. Many of my clients come to me feeling a sense of "stuckness"—perhaps they are dealing with the weight of high-pressure environments, navigating the nuances of the legal or forensic systems, or simply trying to reconcile who they are with who they want to become. I work frequently with those facing specialized behavioral challenges and individuals seeking a structured yet compassionate environment to process their experiences.

I like to start by asking a simple question: Imagine waking up tomorrow and noticing your life feels exactly the way you want it to. What would be different? What would you feel, think, or do differently? Your answer often points toward what matters most to you and can guide our work together in therapy.

Accepting NEW patients! Do you struggle with people-pleasing, low self-worth, or painful relationships that leave you feeling like you’ve lost yourself? Maybe you grew up in a family that looked “fine” on the outside but left you with invisible scars of trauma. You might find yourself replaying old patterns—turning to food, restriction, or overexercise to cope, feeling guilty when you try to set boundaries, or wondering why you keep choosing partners who don’t treat you well. If you’re exhausted from trying to hold it all together while doubting yourself inside, therapy can help you finally break free.

As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), many of the clients I work with—children, teens, adults, and families—feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. They may be struggling with trauma, emotional regulation, or behavioral challenges. Often, they’re looking for a safe space to be heard and understood, and for tools to help them feel more in control of their emotions, relationships, and daily life. Their goal is to feel better—and to begin moving forward with clarity and confidence.

FAQ - About Therapy for Seniors
Is one ever too old for mental health therapy?
Individuals of all ages can benefit from mental health therapy. Indeed, older adults in particular may benefit from the social and psychological support a therapist can provide; the topics that older adults address in therapy may simply differ from those of younger clients. Seniors should seek out a therapist who has experience working with older individuals and who is well-versed in addressing common concerns among elderly individuals, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and physical mobility challenges.

How is counseling for seniors and the elderly different from counseling for other age groups?
In general, counseling offers an opportunity for clients to process difficult life events and develop coping skills they can use outside of the therapy session. Therapists who specialize in working with elderly clients generally have the same framework but may place a special emphasis on specific topics, such as caregiver relationships and reducing loneliness. They may be specially equipped to deal with certain physical conditions or facilitate discussion surrounding end-of-life topics. Counseling for the elderly may also place a greater emphasis on social work-type topics to ensure that geriatric clients have access to necessary resources, such as food, a safe home environment, and healthcare.

How can therapy improve the quality of life of aging individuals?
Therapy for aging adults can greatly improve quality of life by providing an opportunity for them to process difficult emotions related to end-of-life, navigate relational or caregiver challenges, and develop coping skills for common mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. Subsequent reductions in negative emotions and mental health disorder symptoms can make day-to-day living much more manageable for aging adults and those that care for them. The ongoing relationship with a trusted therapist can also help seniors combat loneliness and provide a sense of structure for their routine.

What are the qualities to look for in therapists who see seniors?
Seniors counselors, like mental health counselors in general, should be kind, empathetic, skilled at listening, and knowledgeable about their particular area of expertise. Counselors specializing in working with the senior population should be very familiar with the aging process in general and the common conditions that the elderly can face, such as dementia, depression, loneliness, and/or physical illness. Many senior counselors are also well-equipped to help caregivers and families navigate the aging process of their loved ones, and they may draw on Interpersonal Therapy to help facilitate improved interactions between seniors and those that care for them.
