You and I both know that life can feel unbelievably messy, unpredictable and chaotic. It's easy to get lost in the frenetic juggling of home life, work life and relationships. You can lose your sense of purpose, direction and even who you are. Experiencing some measure of difficulty, distress and pain IS life, but what happens when your usual ways of coping no longer work? It can be all too easy to surrender to the unrelenting waves of frustration, despair and disillusionment when faced with difficult experiences.

I am passionate about offering the best therapy experience possible by meeting clients where they are and drawing from a variety of approaches depending on the unique needs of each individual. I have had the privilege of helping many different people through a range of different issues. I am well versed with complex trauma, anxiety, PTSD, depression, donor conceived people, adoptees, and other issues.

I have been a licensed counselor for over fifteen years and I have been in the helping profession for nearly thirty-five years. Much of my experience is working with people who have experienced trauma, especially within relationships. I specialize in Somatic Attachment-Focused EMDR therapy, a body-mind approach to help you heal from current and past pain and discomfort. Additionally, I incorporate the Safe and Sound Protocol and Neurofeedback in my practice. My expertise lies in supporting young adults aged 16 and above, as well as adults who have experienced recent traumatic events or have Complex PTSD as a result of unhealed childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, and other areas of focus, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, depressive disorder, and performance enhancement.

Utilizing the basic tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I enjoy assisting those with a wide range of mental health issues. From acute illness such as Bipolar Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder to change of life issues, this approach allows for permanent change to the the distorted thought process. My experience has been, and continues to be inpatient at a local psychiatric hospital as well as my private practice. I will work with your psychiatrist or medical provider as well as supportive members of your family/life to provide a more comprehensive approach to mental wellness.
