Hello! My name is Tara Johnson, LPC-Resident in Counseling, and I am a graduate of Walden University with my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling. In my educational and clinical journey, I have found the Cognitive-Behavioral approach to be of great assistance; however, I am also aware that everyone is unique thereby requiring the addition of other therapies as warranted in my “mental health toolbox”. All theories incorporate an understanding of the desire to change one’s approach to a situation even if the situation continues to exist, let me assist you in the process.
One’s reaction to a situation can be a hindrance to change more than the situation itself, so it is important to understand that your effort will have a significant impact on the overall success of the therapeutic process. The secret to health for both mind and body is neither to mourn the past nor worry about the future but live the present moment wisely!
