I am sex positive, kink positive, and have formal training in sexuality, sexual functioning, and general sexual health.
Therapeutically, I have always been drawn to the way we relate to the body. Your body is your home, but many of us feel disconnected from ourselves due to the pressures and oppression we face in the modern world. I have worked with clients on many of these spots of disconnection ranging from eating disorders to chronic illness to sexuality and pleasure. Using the tenets of Acceptance and Commitment therapy, mindfulness, and sex therapy approaches, I hope to make this space feel a little more like home again.

I am ready to help clients work through anything from anxiety and depression, to relationship and intimacy issues, to exploring sexuality and gender identity.
Shame, relationship conflict, trauma and intense emotion are significant parts of the human experience. All of these experiences can disrupt or make it extremely difficult for an individual to connect with themselves, have healthy relationships, meet their goals, or even make it through the day. These challenges can be isolating and can start to foster feelings of hopelessness, shame, and create barriers to reaching out for help. I encourage you to reach out anyway. Creating the life you want to live can start gently, with curiosity and compassion for yourself. I'll meet you there.

I am a sex-positive therapist, and affirming to those in the LGBTQ+, kink, poly, fat and consensual non-monogamy communities.
Every interaction in our lives creates our story. These stories can come from family experiences, media, marginalization, oppression, trauma, and much more. Over time, a collection of these may cause us to fall into depression, anxiety, trauma symptoms, out of control sexual behavior, or other mental health issues. In therapy, my goal is to provide a warm, genuine, and collaborative environment to understand the development of these stories and how we can change them.

I am a certified sex therapist and have completed the Sexual Health Program at the University of Michigan.
I specialize in women's sexual health, relationship issues, anxiety, job related stress, life transitions, and the impacts of trauma, injury, and illness. I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative partnership and my goal is to create a supportive environment of trust and acceptance. I practice an insight-oriented and psychodynamic approach, meaning that the past informs the present and can create unconscious patterns of thought and behavior. Once we have awareness of how our experiences impact our lives, healing can begin.

I believe that consent, respect and open communication are essential in creating a sex-positive space in your relationship(s), and provide a safe space for you to explore this through talk therapy.
I am currently taking new telehealth clients for sex therapy, couples therapy and trauma therapy. My ideal client wants to heal. With all the trauma from the past few years, self-work has never been more necessary and normalized. Coming out of a global pandemic, with relationships and sex lives suffering, we all need to be intentional about rebuilding emotional, mental and sexual health. Whether you’re trying to heal from trauma, improve communication and intimacy in your relationship(s), explore polyamory or consensual non monogamy, or explore sexual and/or gender identity, I believe I can help you to achieve your personal goals.

Sex Therapy

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
