At Carolina Wellness and Recovery of Powdersville, we use evidence based practices to address the issue of addiction. This means we work side by side with a physician specializing in addiction treatment to combine the use of medications with talk therapy and support groups. We also use a harm reduction model to help those with active substance use who have not yet made the decision to stop. We are person-centered, and will meet the client where they are.
I am certified in ART, Accelerated Resolution Therapy. This is an innovative approach to treating trauma. From the ART website—“ART is an evidence–based novel psychotherapy that fosters rapid recovery by reprogramming how the brain stores traumatic memories and imagery.” This therapy is similar to EMDR, and offers very rapid results.

A guiding principle in working with any client is to see that person as a unique individual with strengths and potential far greater than the problem that has brought them to my door. My job is to tap into those strengths, to help you see your potential, and to support you in making the change you are seeking to achieve. I incorporate a holistic approach that looks at a client from a whole person, mind-body perspective, focusing on identifying relational, lifestyle, or cognitive changes that may be beneficial to reaching your identified goals.
