Hello. I have over 20 yrs of clinical experience with children, teens, and adults. I grew up in central Pennsylvania and attended Penn State for undergraduate schooling. I then earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Central Michigan University and later a masters degree in Psychopharmacology from Argosy University. I also completed a two year fellowship in Clinical Child Psychology to work with children, teens, and families. I enjoy working with all age groups. Whether you are a parent wanting support for your child or teenager or an adult I would be happy to help you.

My counseling practice focuses on improving interpersonal relationships and communication within families, couples and individuals. My passion is helping clients manage life transitions, loss, anxiety, anger, depression, family conflict, addictions, and chronic illness. I approach therapy in a collaborative process, your participation plays an integral role in how therapy progresses. Together, we will establish goals and plans that we feel are attainable and will best meet your needs. I believe individuals and families are capable of making meaningful changes in their lives based on strengths they already possess. Our work together will enhance your existing resources.

Throughout my life I have been interested in listening to others as they discuss their struggles and hardships. Helping others in this manner has always come naturally to me, and it is rewarding to be able to serve others in this capacity. I made the determination that I would pursue a career in counseling during my senior year of high school. Since I made that decision, I have done everything in my power to prepare myself to serve others utilizing several tools such as reflective listening, various modalities, and cultural competence.

Accepting new clients both in office and virtual. Life can be challenging and sometimes it can be hard to cope or figure out exactly how to work through those challenges. I understand the struggle and how overwhelming it can sometimes be. We can work together to help you to navigate those challenges and achieve the life you desire. I use a mindfulness-based holistic therapeutic approach focusing on the whole person including body, mind, spirit, and community. My approach to counseling is client focused, culturally sensitive, and integrative.

I have a deep belief that life should be enjoyed. There are many things that can create limits in life, and whether it is our own fault, or someone else's, these limits do not have to keep us from enjoying life. I have extensive work with people who have struggled with drug and alcohol addictions, sexual addictions, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, as well as parenting and adoption concerns. I have seen clients achieve balance in life, greater self-awareness, and overcome ways of thinking and behavior that have limited life's enjoyment and success.

I help people make sense of life. My background is in the clinical-health/mental health field, and I'm also an ordained minister. That means my background allows me to assist you right where you are, not by any preconceived ideas of what you should or shouldn't be doing. My primary source of counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (or CBT). This is a method of discovering together how the decisions you've made in the past, or the circumstances you've lived through, have brought you to where you are. It's not about blame - it's about helping you to empower yourself to have the life worth living you are seeking.
