Terry Drew Karanen
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LSW, MSW, DD
I help people make sense of life. My background is in the clinical-health/mental health field, and I'm also an ordained minister. That means my background allows me to assist you right where you are, not by any preconceived ideas of what you should or shouldn't be doing. My primary source of counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (or CBT). This is a method of discovering together how the decisions you've made in the past, or the circumstances you've lived through, have brought you to where you are. It's not about blame - it's about helping you to empower yourself to have the life worth living you are seeking.
For over 25 years I've been honing my skills and various methods of counseling to provide you the best path to whatever your next step is in life. I have a variety of areas in which I have experience - you'll find those listed in the specialties section of my profile.
I don't have your answers. That may seem odd to read, but here's why it's true: YOU have within you all the answers you need. Together, we can find solutions together. No good therapist, counselor, or healer can do anything for you that you aren't willing to do for yourself. Let me help you do that!

Terry Drew Karanen's Groups
Bonding as Brothers
This "yet-to-be-formed" group is for adult males (18+) to examine where we've been, where we are, and where we're going. The roles of men have changed drastically over the past century and continue to rapidly evolve in the 21st century. How can we embrace our past and empower our goals while living in a society that often requires us to perform in ways that don't suit us? Group meetings to begin in early spring 2020 - reach out if this speaks to you and you'll be sent more information as it becomes available.
