I work with teens, young adults, and middle-adult women who may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, relationship stress, parenting challenges, or the constant balancing act of everyday life. Many of the people I support are navigating big transitions, starting careers, managing family responsibilities, redefining relationships, or figuring out who they are in this next phase of life. If you often find yourself overthinking, feeling emotionally drained, or wondering how everyone else seems to “have it together,” you are definitely not alone and you don’t have to sort it out by yourself.

You've been scrolling through profiles from a Google search hoping to find the perfect match. You might have even creeped on a few therapists' websites to get a closer look, but you haven't found the one that makes you want to commit. Stop that. This isn't online dating and you don't need a perfect match. You need empathy and honesty. You also don't need to commit all at once. The only way you'll really know if a therapist is for you is to meet the therapist. So go ahead. Creep my website if you want. I promise, though, that you'll get a better sense of what I can offer you by scheduling a consultation.

I believe that therapy should provide a secure and non-judgemental space in which you may begin to view with curiosity and process even the most frightening and toxic aspects of your past and inner world. We will examine the dynamic patterns from which your life is woven, and collaborate to establish healthy and meaningful new patterns in the present.

Starting therapy means entering a unique relationship that is centered on your care, and which offers profound growth. I see it as a source of understanding and empowerment - it allows us to better know ourselves and also to be ourselves in the world more fully and freely. As such, therapy works to alleviate your pain while expanding your possibilities for living. I meet with individuals and couples from various backgrounds and life experiences, but work best with those who are curious about themselves or want to cultivate that curiosity to help them get unstuck from patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that are no longer serving them.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
