My patients often have attained success in some elements of their lives, and struggling with other. They wish to reach the feeling that they are successfully utilizing their potential. Regardless of externally observed levels of success, these patient are besieged by feeling that something is lacking. They wish to reach the internal feeling of success, calm and being content. Some of these feelings are related to self-doubt, self-criticism and, or remnants of coping mechanism that were established at young age to deal with shame, pain, or abandonment (real or imagined). This group is to help you dedicate more energy to life.
I treat mental health problems and coach patients to develop skills that are needed to enhance life. Pessimism, hopelessness, and passivity maintain problems. Learned Optimism and active problem solving allow for change. We will use physical, verbal, and emotional tools to increase the energy and mental and emotional capacity to live intentionally NOW.
Living with intention: Body sensation, breathing techniques, mindfulness and sense of humor are valuable tools I use to help my patients add meaning to the. The change happens when we start noticing and experiencing gratitude, compassion, acceptance, and forgiveness for self and others. I see problems as opportunities to learn and expand reality.
