My counseling work is grounded in my Zen Buddhist practice. My meditation practice supports a present-moment relationship with each client, creating space for us to explore the landscape of experience together. I practice contemplative psychotherapy, using mindfulness techniques to help clients access their own wisdom. Reflecting on this wisdom together can lead to making choices and taking actions that better reflect clients’ values and the way they would like to be in the world.

My approach is rooted in the practices of mindfulness and self-compassion. I integrate a variety of mindfulness techniques to psychology to help people nurture their lives with kindness and awareness, and connect with their natural well-being. My practice is informed by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic techniques, client-centered approach and Buddhist psychology. My clinical experience includes a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, sexuality, addiction and grief.

I enjoy helping clients develop greater insight into where they are and where they would like to be, helping them improve relationships, careers, creative endeavors, and their overall ability to find clarity and a deep sense of meaning. I teach clients creative ways to connect with the wisest parts of themselves so they can progress in their lives with equanimity and confidence. My clinical experience includes treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, addiction, as well as interpersonal and relationship issues. I also have a strong ability to help artists and other creative individuals to become more effective versions of themselves.

I work with life transitions, grief, and spirituality. Hi! My name is Emma. I offer an alternative, holistic, and spiritual approach to therapy for people in their 20s and 30s. I help you get to the root of your problems and heal past wounds so you can feel more conscious, integrated, and whole. I use IFS therapy, Depth Hypnosis, Shamanic Counseling, Buddhist Psychology, nutrition, Psychedelic Integration, and TRE, all of which I am trained and/or certified in. As a dance movement therapist, I think the body can be a marvelous source for solutions and insights, when the movement is approached in a way that’s comfortable and safe. Talking is also an important part of the process, as we are whole mind/body systems, and we work best when both are accessible and well connected to each other. Resolving and integrating the past is part of the work.

As an AASECT-certified sex therapist, I work with individuals and couples facing challenges regarding differences in sex drive, sexual pain & dysfunctions such as ED and vaginismus, issues with orgasm, and other issues related to intimacy and performance. While anxiety is not always the cause of these challenges, anxiety is certainly part and parcel of how they manifest. Therapy is geared towards optimizing mental and physical health, managing anxiety through lifestyle changes, improving communication with loved ones, and reaching for better quality of life, which frequently includes: better sex!

Hi! My name is Sandy and I am Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) providing counseling to teenagers (12+) and adults in Illinois. My past clinical experience includes working with adolescents and adults, and veterans, especially those with past trauma and/or those who struggle with anxiety and depression. I also am passionate about working with immigrants, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ community members and multicultural populations.
