I have been licensed as a Professional Counselor, State of Oklahoma, (LPC) for the past 17 years. I own the outpatient counseling office Center for Positive Change, Inc. in Yukon. We are CARF accredited, accept most major insurance as well as Sooner Care. I particularly enjoy working with women and their unique issues and concerns. I also have worked with children and families involved in special family situations, i.e., grief, divorce and DHS. My agency employs a variety of licensed therapists to meet the diverse needs of this community.

Aimee offers individual and family therapy, as well as workshops for trauma-informed communication, self-awareness, and holistic wellness.

I enjoy working with anyone who is struggling to understand themselves and their behavior. While we can not force someone else to change, changing how we react to others can often bring about change in the relationship. I see counseling as a journey. Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma. She is a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy Certified Practitioner and has attended numerous play therapy trainings. Although Amy has worked with many populations, she has an expertise and passion for working with children, teens, and their families to address emotional and behavioral disorders, divorce reaction, anxiety and depression, suicidal and homicidal ideation, parental alienation and family reunification. Amy conducts parenting and co-parenting classes on various topics. She also enjoys working with the college and young adult population.

I believe that therapy works best when it is a collaborative effort with therapist and client working together. While my approach is eclectic, recognizing that there is not a 'one size fits all' approach to counseling, I do work primarily from a Psychodynamic and Interpersonal perspective. There is more to counseling than a particular theoretical orientation. Providing a safe, supportive environment and the ability to sense what a person needs at a particular time are important therapeutic skills.

Society likes to pretend that parenting is always rewarding and that attachment happens without effort. But as parents, we know how hard it can be. Being a child isn't easy either, and young children won't tell us they are struggling. They will show us with behaviors, such as disturbances in eating, sleeping, and toileting, and within their relationships with others. I work with children 0-9 and their caregivers to resolve attachment issues, trauma (big or small), mood disorders, and behavior challenges. I also enjoy helping adults with attachment concerns, transitions and adjustments, postpartum issues, or parenting stresses.
