In our work together, I will provide you with the space and tools to be able face your fears, adjust to new changes, allow yourself to grieve and find peace after loss, and accept yourself for the unique individual you are.
The stories that define our lives are powerful, and can impact the way we look at everything. But we also have the ability to rewrite our stories and create new ones that can be better, and even more powerful than the ones we are living by today. If you are feeling stuck, alone, lost, or overwhelmed - you're don't have to keep going on your own. Sometimes rewriting the story we're in the middle of can seem like a totally impossible task, especially without support or a meaningful plan for change. In my work as a therapist, I am passionate about helping my clients feel empowered and equipped to take their narrative back.

Do you feel stuck? Are you wanting more from life? You have inside of you all the potential you need. Life is a struggle, and we all have our hard moments, but we don't have to stay in our hard moments. It's my job to listen well, and bring my experiences to help teach you skills to move into a new life. If you can change your behavior, you can change your life, and my goal is to teach you easy skills to make that dream your reality. The best part of therapy is finding your "ah ha" moment, where you see the true potential for your own life, the skills needed to make that dream your reality, and the difference a little work can make.

We must: Heal. Grow. Thrive. And always remember that "Today is a good day to have a good day". Life can be a lot to juggle at times. Sometimes all it takes is for someone to sit beside you and listen to you share that you are doing the best that you can and have it affirmed, that is enough. I am here to validate your feelings and affirm that I am here to support you on your journey. It is YOUR journey.

Sometimes we ask ourselves, 'Why do I feel this way? Am I the only one going through this?' The answer is that you are human and you are not alone! We all go through life transitions, anxiety or relationship conflicts that can be overwhelming and can leave us struggling to find meaning and purpose in life. Reaching out for support is a courageous first step and I am grateful to walk along side of those willing to begin their own unique healing journey. I hope to work together to explore and promote personal growth and healing that will continue to serve you well after the therapeutic process has ended.

It is frustrating to have tried everything, yet continue to feel in pain, sad, hopeless, stuck in the past, and worrying about the future, yourself, and your relationships. Stress, past trauma, chronic physical & mental illness can make you feel that way, affecting your quality of life (QOL). Imagine though a life where you get a boost of energy and motivation, quiet negative self-talk, cope better with stress, manage physical and emotional pain, build confidence, feel less worried, self-conscious and withdrawn, regain hope and pleasure in things you used to enjoy, live a healthier life style, and accomplish meaningful life goals.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
