I have experience with working with children, adolescents, teens, and adults. I have past experience as a behavior assistant for the schools, therapeutic boarding school, women with eating disorders, and adults with various disabilities. I have worked with children in the school system and support children from a behavioral outlook.

I am an LCMHCA with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University Irvine. My clinical foundation is based in a person-centered approach utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques. This means that through a non-judgmental, authentic relationship we will work together to develop new skills and work toward your unique goals. I am open to working with a range of ages and concerns with a particular interest in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, family of origin difficulties, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, and life transitions. I am currently training in and able to practice EMDR therapy.

Hi, I'm Naomi McDonald, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who's lived in the mountains of Western NC since 1997. I'm a mom of an adult daughter and have so enjoyed her and the parenting experience. I've been licensed for 12 years and enjoy working with teens and adults who have addictions, eating disorders, family/relationship , anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD issues. I take a holistic approach and also enjoy incorporating spirituality into sessions whether it be by mindfulness meditation, breathing meditations, or Christian principles.
