I believe we all have behaviors, vices and patterns that get in the way of living in a way that is rich in meaning and purpose. I care deeply about helping people explore their patterns of getting their needs met, from a place of non-judgement and compassion. I integrate relational neuroscience with an understanding of how substances and painful experiences intersect leading to feeling stuck, alone and exacerbate suffering.

Do you feel like you don’t know who are? Do you feel misunderstood? Have you struggled with confidence, fear, and hopelessness? Having these thoughts and emotions can be incredibly painful. Many feel ashamed for having them and try to manage their mental health on their own. This tends to perpetuate greater feelings of isolation and relational pain.

Something feels “off”. You’ve been suffering for some time now, as have your personal and professional relationships, and maybe you don’t understand why, but you’ve decided that ignoring and suppressing your emotional pain are no longer viable options. “I can’t do this any longer!”, you think to yourself. Well you don’t have to because those who commit to this process find that over time, these problems are more manageable than they thought, and they are not has hopelessly chained to the past as they initially imagined.

I invite you to slowly breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth, allowing yourself to better know how you feel as you read my profile. I want to honor your needs and to support you in clarifying them. You're ready to let go of the weight of keeping it all together and to not walk on eggshells any more. You may be here because you've reached a point where you can't do this work all by yourself anymore. Perhaps you wonder what it would be like to feel cared for and deeply seen in a relationship, or how the world would look if pains and traumas no longer affected your thoughts, social life, and self-esteem.

Do you ever wake up and wonder, "How did I get here?" or "Why did this have to happen to me?" Maybe you wish your life looked differently but are not sure how to get there. We all have "things" we need to process, but my experience is that we often get “stuck in a rut” with how we approach problems. We need a new perspective or another person to help us process our "stuff” - someone who can ask us questions to help us to see things from a different vantage point or to help us rewrite our stories with hope, purpose, and excitement. My desire is to help people see how the “stuff” in their lives can be used in amazing ways.

Currently Full and Unable to Accept New Clients at this Time. I was a teenager and young adult that experienced unhappiness and anger. I even thought therapy was a bunch of fuckery and wouldn’t help… so I avoided therapy until it was really needed. I wished I got therapy sooner as I found resilience and empowerment to be the best version of myself and that is what I hope to do for you. I primarily work with pre-adolescents, adolescents, and young adults who struggle with various types of trauma, anger, anxiety, depression with or without self injurious behaviors and suicidal ideation, all types of addiction.

Your life has not turned out how you had hoped or planned. You are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, substance use, or loss. You find yourself trying to solve this discomfort by repeating behaviors that provide temporary relief, but ultimately lead you further away from the kind of life you want, and the kind of person you want to be. Instead of stuck, exhausted, desperate, and dissatisfied, you'd like to move through your life with confidence, compassion, clarity, trust, creativity, curiosity, and centeredness. You'd like to finally resolve the hurt or pain you have been carrying inside you.

How can I find a therapist in Arden?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
