Psychotherapy is to the mind what the immune system is to the body. It protects and strengthens. Our mental health is a measure of how strong the relationships in our lives are. Emotional needs are like oxygen to the person. The ability to have a balanced life is mostly determined by the level of trauma one had to endure. Most destructive of all traumas is relational. When person's needs are not met it may create distortion in experiencing self and other.
Therapy is a conversation of a special type. It is interactive. I will get to the roots of your concerns with empathy and care but also with direct challenge and confrontation when needed. Important for me to see strengths not only weaknesses, and not to overly pathologize.
