I have been a therapist for over 20 years and use a method for helping others that is compassionate, collaborative, and goal oriented. I use a cognitive-behavioral model and will help you look at multiple aspects of problems: environmental factors, stressors, and the heart of cognitive therapy- your thinking patterns. Some might think that CBT doesn’t give credit to our emotions, but this isn’t the case! In fact, therapy starts with exploring the painful emotions that bring people to therapy. Before changes happen and goals are set, I want to fully understand what clients are going through by listening with empathy and compassion.
I’m also passionate about helping clients improve relationships. Using Family Systems theory, I encourage exploring relationship patterns experienced in our family, and learning how to break dysfunctional patterns. Healthy relationships are key to supporting good mental health!
