I offer in-office and online counseling. I am devoted to helping to optimize the mental health of individuals in Montana, and improve access to counseling. Online counseling is a great option to engage in counseling and work toward a better quality of life. I have a holistic approach to counseling, and I work with my clients to incorporate their beliefs in counseling such as emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects.

Please Note: In my general practice I specially see clients ages 4-17. My specialties include working with children and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related reactions and symptoms, attachment difficulties, self harming, adjustment issues, and school difficulties that include peer and teacher conflicts, learning disabilities or differences. One area of particular interest that I have is working with children and teens in the foster care system, families providing foster care, and families that have grown or are growing through adoption.

Through a wealth of life experience, I bring to the session, knowledge and the ability to relate to others who are going through a challenging time. I focus on issues related to anxiety along with, depression, trauma, grief/bereavement, and life/transition issues. I have experience working with clients who feel lonely or are navigating through empty nest emotions.  I have worked with clients in many stages of adulthood to navigate the different nuances of life. My warm, compassionate, and direct approach can help support you as you explore past experiences, develop new skills, accept unwanted life events, and grow in new directions.

I am taking new clients after April 15, 2024. I work with anorexia, bulimia, and other eating problems. Many eating problems were initiated by dieting and became an illness when the body's evolutionary defenses against starvation fought back leading to anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating disorder. Our fat-phobic culture preaches limitless perfectibility and a duplicitous diet industry claims that permanent loss is possible and healthy.

You already have, and can unlock, everything you need to live a fulfilling and purposeful life. My philosophy is that the person/people sitting across from me come with primary expertise, experience and wisdom. Each one is a specialist in their own self and their own life, and comes with inherent worth, value and dignity. My priority is to be fully present and aware in order to build trusting relationships, deeply understand, reflect each person's insights/solutions, and offer hope in other possibilities. I hold an AS in Christian Ministry, a BS in Psychology with a Christian Counseling Specialization & an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have a private Christian counseling practice. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. I see Christian counseling as a process where life issues are addressed holistically using a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach using a biblical worldview. This approach is one where Scripture and its principles are used as a guiding and foundational factor integrated within psychological treatment. However, I will not use a biblical approach with any counselee without prior consent.

We can all become stuck at times and it can feel so awful. Sometimes we need assistance in facing our difficulties or in identifying fixed patterns that no longer serve us. I help guide clients in exploring these patterns with a curious and self-empowering mindset and support them in finding creative paths to resolution. I have a warm, interactive, directive, and relational style of counseling. I always look forward to collaborating with my clients on their personal journeys! I enjoy using a more directive approach in therapy with clients while still providing plenty of space for clients to explore and process.
