I have worked with people suffering from depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, relationship issues, sexual issues, personality disorders, and many more.
I know no one who is "accidentally" in counseling or therapy. Thus, this step and this choice is often quite difficult. I embrace building rapport with my clients in a way that allows us to engage in a collaboration of unique, innovative and effective techniques to overcome the challenges, problems and/or difficulties they are facing, whether in their social, personal, or business life. I take pride in listening to my clients and trying to provide them thoughtful tools they can use long after our sessions are complete.

This includes anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, attachment ruptures, school transitions, and complex issues (trauma, grief/loss, parental separation/divorce).
Life events can be stressful. There are moments when we all feel overwhelmed and need support. Therapy provides a safe space to work together in exploring solutions to challenging thoughts, feelings, and situations. Interventions are tailored to individual situations and client needs. This can include use of EMDR for trauma processing and challenging negative cognitions, CBT with a psychodynamic and humanistic approach, and play therapy with children.

The journey to emotional health begins with discovering and nurturing the authentic self. When we make choices that are inconsistent with who we are, our ability to participate in life, to love and work is compromised. This can often lead to avoiding the things that truly matter to us causing us to feel depressed or anxious. When this happens, we tend to avoid more. And the cycle continues. In my work, I help clients (ages 16+) re-engage with life focusing on their values and what matters most to them.

I work with clients who live with intense emotions. Deep depression, constant anxiety, intense anger, and other clients—who want to avoid feeling all together. Emotions often drive my client's choices—how they choose to behave or speak (or bow out of engaging/speaking) depends on how they are feeling. This tends to create chaos and damage relationships. My clients become aware of their thoughts and emotions without being ruled by them. My style is warm, highly curious, non-judgmental, and collaborative. It is important to me that you feel comfortable, with me, and in my space.

I have practiced psychotherapy for 20+ years. I strongly believe it is possible to feel energetic, satisfied with our achievements, secure in relationships, and positive about the future. At times we can feel overwhelmed and discouraged, grieving losses. If you deal with anxiety, depression, stress - you may feel vulnerable instead of resilient, focused on past trauma experiences/regrets, on fears for the future. I provide guidance as you explore and change habits of thought and behaviors to improve relationships, to access natural resilience, to achieve a greater sense of personal security and self-confidence.

I believe that therapy can greatly help with coping skills, with dealing with long- standing problems; and with stress and pain management. During COVID, many people have been focused on day to day issues relating to depression, anxiety, and PTSD; and are trying to cope with these in the best possible way. All types of mood disorders, anxiety, chronic pain and illness, and transitions feel more pressing. Some months I have not been able to accept new patients due to high demand for services and a full waiting list; other months I am able to accept 1-2 new patients.

Managing the impact of trauma on the body, brain and mind can be overwhelming. Trauma creates insecurity, mistrust, and disconnection from people, yet as humans we exist in relation to others. Trauma can cause depression, anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties. I will walk with you in your journey of healing tapping into your strengths and resiliency to restore your dignity, and empower you to take back control of your life, and embody your sense of Self. My approach is collaborative, respectful, compassionate and warm. Your cultural, and ancestral beliefs will be centered, respected and applied; if it matters to you!

I support individual adults (18+) in addressing challenges, some of which include healing and wellness from depression, anxiety, trauma (generational/PTSD/racial), life transitions, stress, low self-esteem, and cultural and relationship challenges. In doing so, I utilize person-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed, and systemic approaches in therapy with specific techniques from ACT, narrative, DBT, CBT, and EMDR. Clients can expect unconditional care, a sense of authenticity, respect for their unique story, and yes, even a space for humor when participating in one of my sessions.

Some of the issues I work with often include anxiety, depression, anger, lack of motivation, career-related stress, parental issues, sex and gender-related issues, and addiction. I work to create an environment that feels supportive, respectful, and collaborative. Together we will explore your challenges and find ways to get unstuck. Sometimes our goal may be to decrease the severity of symptoms, and sometimes it may be to understand what is missing in your life.
