I am a licensed clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst with over twenty-five years of work experience. I am Associate Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Hawaii Medical School. I am licensed in Hawaii and New York and located in downtown Honolulu. I am one of only two practicing psychoanalysts in Hawaii trained at an institute approved by the American Psychoanalytic Association. I specialize in psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis, which are intensive treatments which help people understand themselves at a deeper level. I also conduct psychological evaluations, provide consultations and clinical supervision.
I completed my psychoanalytic training at Columbia University, my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Boston University, and my internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School. I worked in Boston and New York City for over two decades before moving to Hawaii.
I am the founder and president of the Hawaii Psychoanalytic Society (www.hawaiipsychoanalytic.com), the only non-profit psychoanalytic organization in the state, which is dedicated to sharing psychoanalytic knowledge and helping patients.
